UNOPS hosts the Stop Tuberculosis Partnership Secretariat (STBP) as of 1 January 2015, in Geneva, Switzerland. The vision of the Stop TB Partnership is to realize the goal of elimination of Tuberculosis (TB) as a public health problem and, ultimately, to obtain a world free of TB by ensuring that every TB patient has access to effective diagnosis, treatment and cure; stopping transmission of TB; reducing the inequitable social and economic toll of TB; and developing and implementing new preventive, diagnostic and therapeutic tools and strategies. The Stop Partnership is uniquely positioned to support the development and further implementation by partners of the current and future Global Plan, acting as a coordinator and catalyst for the range of partners engaged in the fight against TB.

Founded in 2001, the Stop TB Partnership's mission is to serve every person who is vulnerable to TB and ensure that high-quality treatment is available to all who need it. Stop TB partners include international and technical organizations, government programmes, research and funding agencies, foundations, NGOs, civil society and community groups and the private sector.

The Communications Team provides writing, editing and strategic communications services to teams across the Secretariat to support delivery of the Operational Strategy. The team works to coordinate global advocacy efforts and put TB on the agenda of political decision makers and key stakeholders.

One of the core areas of work of Stop TB Partnership is advocacy and communication for the global fight against TB which requires design work on infographics, publications, etc. In this regard, the incumbents selected for the roster will work with the in-house Graphic Designer on design work, cultivating and improving the digital brand of STBP and keeping it relevant to new media outlets as well as in the more traditional ones.

Functional Responsibilities

Under the direct supervision of the Stop TB in-house Graphic Designer, the incumbents will be part of a roster of graphic designers (retainers) ready to provide design work when needed. The main functions of the Graphic Designers in the roster are:

  • Design and layout in Adobe Creative Suite (lnDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator etc) as well as with Microsoft applications (Word, and PowerPoint) and ideally with good knowledge of Google-suite applications.
  • Presenting ideas and concepts to the supervisor, depending on the design assignment requested.
  • Producing clear, concise and vivid materials that convey key messages to target audiences.
  • Develop visual identities for key projects or programs.
  • Develop infographics, charts, graphics, and tables.
  • Create visuals and graphics for the organization’s website and social media.
  • Select colors, images, text styles, and layout according to UNOPS / STBP brand guidelines.
  • Amend the design based on feedback/recommendations from the supervisor.
  • Work on exporting print-ready PDFs for professional printing and interactive PDFs for digital reading.

Monitoring & Progress Controls:

Under the supervision of the in-house Graphic Designer, the rostered consultant - once engaged for an assignment - will regularly report on the advancement of the project based on agreed milestones. Frequency of reporting will be determined in the project assignment / proposal, pending the scope and amount of time required to complete the project.

The consultants in the roster, will receive a retainer contract with an agreed daily or hourly fee and with a maximum of 150 workdays or 1,200 hours within a specific period of time (under this contract consultants could be engaged from 0 to 150 days or 1,200 hours of work within a specific period of time).

The payment will be made after the consultant has completed the project or required project milestones approved by the in-house Graphic Designer. The process will also include an invoice (Certification of Payment) submission to UNOPS for further processing.
