Duties and Responsibilities
Corruption risks can compromise the effectiveness of disaster preparedness and response. In the Pacific region, where small island states are particularly vulnerable to natural hazards, strengthening governance in disaster management systems is critical. As part of its support to Pacific Island Countries under the United Nations Convention against Corruption (UNCAC), UNODC is developing practical guidance for National Disaster Management Offices (NDMOs) to integrate corruption risk assessments, preventive measures, and internal control mechanisms in their work. The graphic designer will be developing a visually compelling, user-friendly guide which aims to help NDMOs across the Pacific understand and apply these good practices in real-world contexts.
