Overview

Create and finalize the UN report in CAR with engaging graphics

You have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, digital professions: design, writing and web development or equivalent is required.
  • Fluency in oral and written French is required.

Result of Service The successful contractor will work closely with the Head of RCO and the RCO Communications Officer. The objective of this work is to produce readable, engaging and dynamic documents that allow the UN Country Team to convey clear and concise messages to the general public.

Duties and Responsibilities Background

CAR remains the second poorest country in the world, with more than half of its population in humanitarian need and heavily dependent on aid for access to basic social services.

The United Nations Development Assistance Framework (UNDAF+ 2018-2022), a joint UN strategic framework, outlines support to CAR to implement the Central African Recovery and Peacebuilding Plan (RCPCA) and the Political Agreement for Peace and Reconciliation in the Central African Republic (APPR-RCA) signed in February 2019.

A joint annual report is published on the results and contribution of the United Nations to the implementation of these national frameworks. The annual report for 2022 was prepared by the Office of the Resident Coordinator, with contributions from all agencies and MINUSCA.

Responsibilities

Based on the data reported by the agencies, particularly on the UN Info platform, the Resident Coordinator’s Office (RCO), in conjunction with the agencies, will prepare the report and make it available to the selected contractor. The RCO will provide the selected contractor with all the information required to finalize the 2020 annual report in the framework of UNDAF+. The document to be reworked will be in French. The Resident Coordinator’s Office (RCO) will also make available images, tables, Excel files or links containing data that will be used to design graphical representations presenting the results in a synthetic manner and/or presenting trends. It should be noted that all productions under contract with the RCO are intended for free distribution and will be the exclusive property of the RCO.

The successful contractor will work closely with the Communications Officer. The contractor's tasks to produce the final graphic versions of the annual report on UNDAF+ are the following:

- Review / correction of grammar and spelling; - Production of classic quality PDF documents (25 pages maximum), correctly formatted (A4 document), formatted, and illustrated with relevant photos; - Fully designed laid out document in InDesign/Adobe format; - Layout in line with DCO 2020 and 2021 guidance (provided by RCO); - Statistics/ trends to be shown in infographics; - A classic quality PDF document for review; - A version of the document for the web with a hyperlinked table of contents will also be provided

Qualifications/special skills Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, digital professions: design, writing and web development or equivalent is required.

Languages Fluency in oral and written French is required.

Additional Information Specifications: - Illustrated with photos reflecting the activities carried out by the United Nations in 2022. Photos to be provided by the RCO - Font: Calibri (Corps) 11, titles in Calibri (Corps) 11 in bold and capital letters. - Photos, graphs and tables, logos are to be provided by the RCO by means of a link. - The graphic designer will improve and rework the graphs and tables provided by RCO - Correctly formatted (A4 document)
