Result of Service This production requirement entails taking briefs from the defined UNITAD focal point in the PIO; utilising existing archive and generating new designs for use in UNITAD’s communications, and templates. Also, creating infographs and design graphics, publication designs, social media visuals, as needed by the PIO; accepting feedback from the UNITAD focal point and taking action; accordingly, delivering professional quality content for official use by UNITAD. All rights will be reserved by UNITAD.

Duties and Responsibilities Purpose:

UNITAD Public Information Office requires a Graphic designer to support in the production of a mission Branding visual content (Generating infographics, graphic designs, publications, social media visuals, and animated videos).

UNITAD was established by the Secretary-General pursuant to Security Council resolution 2379 (2017), according to which it is mandated to support domestic efforts to hold ISIL (Da'esh) accountable by collecting, preserving and storing evidence in Iraq of acts that may amount to war crimes, crimes against humanity and genocide committed by ISIL (Da'esh) in Iraq.

Special Note:

Prior to selection and onboarding, the short-listed candidate will be required to provide the following:

  • Proof of university degrees.
  • Proof of each employment listed in the Administrative Profile by the candidate. Please note that the proof must match the exact start and end dates of employment, functional titles and employers indicated by the candidate.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop illustrations, publication designs, short videos, social media graphics and visual content and other designs as tasked by the Public Information office (PIO)to support various UNITAD units in their internal and outreach material;
  • Develop and update UNITAD’s branding portfolio;
  • Work with PIO team to assist in its daily functions through creating and amending designs as required;
  • Ensure final graphics and layouts are consistent with UN guidelines and UNITAD branding
  • Exercise flexibility and ability to produce requested material in a timely manner

    Qualifications/special skills Education:

A first level university degree (Bachelor’s or equivalent) in graphic design, Digital Media, Branding or a related field is required.

Experience:

At least 5 years of experience in the field of graphic design and visual branding is required. Proven expedience in graphic design and brand development across print and digital campaigns is required. Experience with industry-standard creative design tools, including Adobe Creative Suite, such as InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Dreamweaver, After Effects, and Premiere Pro is required. Demonstrated experience in data visualization and the infographic design is required Experience in design and execution of print material such as flyers, brochures, booklets, roll up banners, social media …etc is required. Experience in film editing for social media purposes is required. Proven experience in creative design for psycho-social support content is desirable. Experience in working with the United Nations common system or similar international organization is desirable.

Skills and Competencies:

Strong communication and time management skills. Commitment to deadlines A keen eye for aesthetics and details. Advanced literacy of creative design tools, including Adobe Creative Suite, such as InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Dreamweaver, After Effects, and Premiere Pro. Video making and video editing skills strongly desirable.
