  1. Purpose

1.1 Explain the requirement for a consultant/individual

The graphic design consultant will support the climate change Unit in designing communication products, to achieve two main goals: • To help the Climate Change Unit office meet its growing need for quality design services. The consultant will provide technical support to projects been implemented by the unit in designing publications and contribute to the development and improvement of the design, branding and layout of materials produced by UN Environment. • Ensure that all products and reports are following UN Environment graphic guidelines, provide the best possible functionality and usability to UN Environment partners and contribute to the overall branding process. Often, climate change action is weakened by the limited capacities of policy makers and international organizations to transmit, in a visual way, the significance and urgency of climate change intervention in a clear and appropriate way to the broader range of stakeholders and to the public. For this reason, the Climate Change Unit of UN Environment is looking for a graphic designer and advertising expert consultant who will support the Climate Change Unit in the development of communication strategies and products while maintaining a coherent branding for UNEP and all UNEP initiatives and projects.
