The Mayors for Economic Growth (M4EG) is an initiative of the European Union (EU) that aims to support mayors and municipalities to become active facilitators for economic growth and job creation in their local communities. The M4EG currently has more than 400 local authorities in its regional network in the Eastern Partnership (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine). At the end of 2022, the M4EG launched the Urban Learning Center (ULC) together with Arup, Climate KIC, and TalTech which provides capacity-building resources to local governments to promote economic growth and sustainable urban development.

The Urban Learning Center (ULC) brings new learning and networking opportunities within the M4EG network and beyond providing an enabling learning ecosystem. This includes a new generation of Local Economic Development Plans, moving from a linear project to a ‘portfolio of options’ approach to tackling complex challenges, and innovation mentoring and seed-funds.

Through this assignment, the aim is to improve the user-friendliness and visual aspects of the ULC platform. The platform is utilised by 400+ municipalities in the Eastern Partnership and will be showcased at the upcoming World Cities Summit in Singapore 2-4 June 2024.

Description of Responsibilities: - management and re-design of the ULC on the SparkBlue platform - uploading and organising learning materials on the Urban Learning Center (SparkBlue Platform) - provide review and design support to upcoming 2 courses under ULC (Smarter & Inclusive Cities, Funding and Financing for Municipalities)

The successful candidate will work remotely and report to the M4EG Urban Recovery & Renewal Designer based out of the UNDP Istanbul Regional Hub.

Academic Qualifications/Education:

Diploma / Bachelor’s degree in Knowledge Management, Communications, Graphic Design or related fields.

Experience:

Experience in graphic design and creating visually appealing digital content.

Some exposure to coordinating or liaising with multiple stakeholders in a remote setting

Skills:

Competency in graphic design tools (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Canva).

Ability to work effectively in a multicultural, team-oriented, remote environment.

Strong skills in written and spoken English, with an ability to curate and organize educational content.
