You have:

- Experience in graphic design and layout, preferably using tools such as Canva, Adobe, or InDesign.
- Excellent drafting and communication skills in English; knowledge of French is an asset.

The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), contributes to peace and security by promoting international cooperation in education, sciences, culture, communication, and information. Through knowledge sharing and policy dialogues, UNESCO supports Member States in advancing the Sustainable Development Goals defined in the 2030 Agenda, adopted by the UN General Assembly in 2015.
Since January 2011, the UNESCO Office in Addis Ababa has served as the Liaison Office to the African Union (AU) and the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA), as well as the National Office for Ethiopia. Its role is to implement the Organization’s Approved Programme and Budget at the country level and to advocate for UNESCO’s mandate and unique role in advancing international cooperation by ensuring coherence between UNESCO’s global priorities, the UN Agenda 2030, the AU’s Agenda 2063, the AU-UN coordination mechanisms, and Ethiopia’s national development frameworks.
To further enhance the visibility of the UNESCO Addis Ababa Liaison Office’s work, the assignment will support the preparation of selected communication and visibility materials for outreach and dissemination purposes.
Key objectives of the review include:
Under the direct supervision of the relevant Programme Specialist, the volunteer will provide support to the design of communication and visibility materials for the UNESCO Addis Ababa Liaison Office, in consultation with the relevant team members. The work will ensure that the materials present information in a clear, structured and visually appealing format, while maintaining consistency with UNESCO editorial, graphic and visibility standards.
The volunteer will: - Provide support to the design of selected communication and visibility materials for the UNESCO Addis Ababa Liaison Office, in line with UNESCO branding guidelines; - Integrate feedback from relevant team members and ensure consistency across the materials; - Support any other related visibility assignments as needed by the Office.
Candidates should have professional experience in graphic design with previous experience in designing document layouts, and must have in-depth knowledge of graphic design applications, as well as good verbal and written communication skills. A degree in graphic design or related field is considered an asset.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
· Proficiency in Canva.
· University degree (Bachelor’s degree or equivalent) in communication, design, development studies, or related fields.
· Experience in reviewing, editing and producing high-quality reports and publications for UN or similar organizations.
· Strong coordination, research, analytical and writing skills with de demonstrated attention to detail.
· Experience in graphics design and layout, preferably using tool such as Canva, Adobe, or InDesign.
· Excellent drafting and communication skills in English; knowledge of French is an asset.
