- Be computer literate in standard software applications.
- Have a demonstrated keen interest in the work of the United Nations.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite: Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop.
- Knowledge of Adobe After Effects and Premiere is desirable.
- Fluency in English and Arabic is required; knowledge in French is desirable.

Duties and Responsibilities
Background: This internship is located within the Conference Management Services (CMS), RMSDD, of the Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA). The intern reports directly to the Documents Management Officer of RDU and will be under the overall supervision of the chief of CMS. Duties and Responsibilities: Working under the supervision of the Senior Designer, the intern will assist the design team of ESCWA with its daily tasks. The selected intern may perform some of the following functions: Assist in the design and layout of information materials, policy briefs, booklets, flyers, roll-up banners, social media posts, power point presentations, etc…; Create logos, infographics, illustrations and drawings; Assist in developing scripts, moodboards and storyboards and produce animated short movies; Liaise with authors and language colleagues on projects specifications and requirements; Performs other related works tasks as required. The duration of a United Nations internship is for a minimum of two months on a full-time basis - this may be exceptionally extended for a maximum period of six months.
Qualifications/special skills
To qualify for an internship with the United Nations Internship Programme, the following conditions must be met: 1. Applicants must: (a) be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); (b) be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor's level or equivalent); or (c) have graduated with a university degree (as defined above); 2. Applicants must: (a) be computer literate in standard software applications; (b) have a demonstrated keen interest in the work of the United Nations and have a personal commitment to the ideals of the UN Charter; and (c) have a dem bility to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs, which include willingness to try and understand and be tolerant of differing opinions and views. No previous work experience is required for this job opening. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite: Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Xpress is required. Knowledge of Adobe After Effects and Premiere is desirable. Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel is desirable.
Languages
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat; and Arabic is a working language of ESCWA. For this position, fluency in English and Arabic are required. Knowledge in French is desirable. Note: "Fluency" equals a rating of 'Fluent" in all four areas (speak, read, write, and understand) and "Knowledge of" equals a rating of "Confident" in two of the four areas.
