Purpose of consultancy

To develop and improve graphic material for self-learning on for managing workplace conflict management. The deliverables of this consultancy will offer WHO/Europe workforce a set of useful, brief, relevant, and practical presentations and supportive graphic material for self-consultation on how to address workplace issues.

Background

WHO/Europe is developing initiatives aimed at helping its personnel to build a working culture and environment that is inclusive and respectful.

Such inclusive and respectful working environment is also a fundamental strategy of the EPW 2020-25 where WHO/Europe is required to foster a work environment conducive to delivering results by, among other measures, “ensuring a healthy, respectful and motivational workplace for all staff with the implementation of zero tolerance of harassment, and promotion of diversity and gender balance.”

The COVID Pandemic has imposed enormous challenges to WHO/Europe workforce. Everybody needs, now more than ever, to work in a psychologically safe and respectful workplace, however that is not always the case.

Staff have been in high demand since the outset of the Pandemic; many are at the limit of their capacity; some are exhausted or at high risk of burning out. Interpersonal issues and workplace conflicts can easily be triggered in these circumstances.

The Regional Ombudsperson Office supported by the Organizational Development Unit (ORD) has developed 5 power point presentations (12 slides each) on specific conversations and scenarios that can be navigated by the user according to the situation to be addressed. Such a presentation will be made available to all staff, enabling them to consult, learn, and practice at their own pace, how to handle interpersonal issues in the workplace.

This ToR is developed to make such presentations more user friendly and to develop summary info-graphs and leaflets.

Deliverables

  1. A final version of 5 presentations on conversation-based tools for conflict resolution, designed as per WHO standards. For that purpose, the provider will receive:

    i. The official WHO template: EURO-ppt-template-16x9-ENG-Light.

ii. The five 12-slide presentations “Conversation-based tools to address workplace issues”, developed by the Regional Ombudsman office.

The provider will apply the EURO-ppt-template-16x9-ENG-Light to design a final version of the 5 presentations and will improve their design as necessary to make them clear and user friendly.

  2. Ten summary info-graphs A4 PDF, based on the power point presentation main 5 subjects (to be discussed with the Ombudsperson).
