Org. Setting and Reporting This position is located in the Design and Production Section, Production and Support Service, Division of Conference Management, United Nations Office at Geneva.

Responsibilities Under the general supervision of the Section Chief and the direct supervision of the Graphic Design Sub-Unit Chief, the incumbent will be responsible for the following tasks:

- Researches visual identity, designs, creates and executes, in the six official languages of the United Nations, all products requested (poster, publication, brochure, electronic file such as interactive PDF, websites) by the United Nations, using existing IT structures (PC, printers, scanners) and professional Windows software, such as Indesign CC, Photoshop CC, Illustrator CC, Acrobat CC, Adobe XD, HTML, CSS, Word, Excel, etc. - Creates infographics and pictograms from information submitted by the client that will help communicate complex information in a simple manner. -Creates and develops website layouts, designs, and content which shall include the creation of “Look-and-Feel” using visual design basics to create strong designs in line with the proposed visual identity. -Supports the creation of high-quality communications products, including web stories, blogs, social media posts, photos and videos. - Searches for photos and illustrations in the image library or online to help design and communicate the client's objectives. - Ensures the correct implementation of the color chain when processing texts, logos or calibrating standard or digital images, in order to respect the type of support (paper, interactive PDF and e-pub) and the type of printing that will be used (offset, digital) on such type of paper (matte / coated). - Provides a visually appealing layout/mock-up for the client. - Performs typographical enrichment and spelling corrections of transmitted data. - Plans, organizes and monitors the execution of the plans and modifies them if necessary, working independently and sometimes under pressure. - Must also be able to perform other duties such as creating and completing small documents or jobs including letterhead, business cards, special covers specific to the organization. May also be required to reproduce color documents using the color printer.

Education High school education or equivalent. Specialized technical studies in graphic arts with a diploma or certificate are desirable.

Work Experience A minimum of five (5) years of experience in the field of creative and/or graphic arts is required. Experience in web design is desirable. Experience in multimedia production is desirable. One (1) year experience with the United Nations common system is desirable.

Languages English and French are the working languages of the UN Secretariat, for the position advertised, fluency in English or French and knowledge of the other language are required. Knowledge of another UN language is an asset.

Assessment Evaluation of qualified candidates may include an assessment exercise which may be followed by competency-based interview.
