About the job

Under the supervision of the Programme Development and Quality Manager and in close coordination with the Grants Management Coordinator, Programme Support Unit, Area Managers, and senior staff in South Sudan and DRC HQ, the Grants and Partnership Officer supports strategic partnerships and grant management to enhance DRC’s mission and impact. This includes partnership development, proposal writing, reporting, coordination, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

1. Grants Management (30%)

  • Coordinate and support donor, partner, and government reporting by compiling and reviewing high-quality narrative reports.
  • Identify and document success stories to showcase program impact.
  • Review and support the negotiation of project agreements (e.g., sub-grants, MOUs).
  • Support grant lifecycle processes: opening, review, and closure.
  • Provide timely responses to internal and external information requests.
  • Share grant-related data with the M&E team for effective monitoring.

2. Partnership Development (50%)

  • Identify, build, and manage strategic partnerships with NGOs, INGOs, government, private sector, and multilateral agencies.
  • Represent DRC at coordination meetings and forums.
  • Prepare concept notes, proposals, and partnership frameworks.
  • Lead or support partner capacity assessments and manage MOUs and contracts.
  • Evaluate partner capacity and recommend risk mitigation strategies.

3. Monitoring, Reporting & Documentation (10%)

  • Maintain a partnership database and ensure documentation of all agreements.
  • Monitor partnership performance and compliance, contributing to reporting.

4. Capacity Building & Coordination (10%)

  • Train and support staff on donor compliance, proposal writing, and partnership engagement.
  • Develop fundraising tools, templates, and SOPs.
