DRC has been responding to various humanitarian crises in Lebanon since 2004, working with Palestinian, Iraqi and Syrian refugees. DRC received registration from the Ministry of Interior in 2011, and since then has focused primarily on responding to the Syrian refugee crisis in Lebanon and the resulting impact on Lebanese host community. DRC Lebanon’s focus is to ensure that we are able to respond to critical emerging humanitarian needs whilst improve the living conditions of displacement-affected populations and contribute to the achievement of durable solutions. With an annual portfolio of $12million, and with approximately 200+ staff, DRC is focusing its response in protection and economic recovery (Ec-Rec) sector in Bekka, North Lebanon and Beirut. DRC is also contributing to the evidence base and coordination structures in country through our Evidence Generation and referral information management (RIMs) teams

About the job

The Grant Officer will work with programme staff to develop high-quality and timely reports and proposals for donors and other country- and HQ-level communications. He/She will be sharing tasks and responsibilities between the DRC Lebanon Country Team and the LINKED Consortium – a consortium funded by the EUTF (MADAD) and implemented by 4 NGOs with the objective to contribute to sustained, inclusive and sustainable economic development in Lebanon.

Your main duties and responsibilities will be:

  • Develop and prepare high-quality, timely reports for donors, partners, and government on program progress, ensuring all donor reporting requirements are met and strategically positioned to demonstrate DRCs leadership in programming in the country context.
  • Manage internal reporting workflows and processes between team leaders, program manager, and the Beirut team, by providing strategic reviews and revisions to ensure the timely and quality development and review of reports.
  • Support the Grants Management Specialist and the Consortium Manager in providing timely, thorough responses to information requests from internal and external sources, focusing on grants management, compliance, and donor relations
  • Support kick-off, mid-year review, and close out meetings for field level grants, including but not limited to: facilitation of meeting, development of agenda, dissemination of notes, and storage of documents
  • Support the Grants Management Specialist in overseeing proposal development processes, including support with drafting high quality concept notes and proposals.
  • Increase programmatic visibility through developing strategic communication materials, such as sector profiles, impact reports, program briefings, leadership and positioning pieces for internal and external resources.
  • Ensure compliance with donor visibility requirements and communication guidelines.
  • As per need and relevance, support the consortium management unit (CMU) with drafting of sub-grant agreements and donor reporting
  • Supporting on updates and maintenance of all grants management processes on DRC’s Dynamics, including but not limited to: creation of Grant IDs, uploading grant management files, installment management, and supporting the Grants Management Specialist on regularly reviewing and updating in preparation for high-level budget management meetings and follow up actions
  • Support capacity building initiatives on reporting and grants guidelines for DRC staff and partner organizations

About you

To be successful in this role we expect the following qualifications and experience:

Required

  • University degree in international relations, project management, business administration, or equivalent professional qualification
  • At least 2 years of professional experience with an international development organization
  • Excellent planning, management and coordination skills
  • Strong communication (written and spoken) in English, and strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong attention to detail, problem solving skills, and ability to analyze trends
  • Familiarity with UN and EU donors with special attention to reporting requirements.
  • Ability to represent DRC to international donors, government officials, local groups and community members.
  • English and Arabic fluency in written and spoken.
