You have:
- At least 5 years' experience in proposal, project, or programme development, reporting, or grants management in an INGO
- At least 3 years' experience with people management
- Excellent knowledge of donor rules, regulations, and procedures including but not limited to US and European donors, EU funding mechanisms, and UN agencies.
- Proven experience in successfully applying for institutional donor funding
- Previous proven experience in programmes implemented through local partners or in remote management
- Proven experience in capacity building and training of national staff and local partners
- Ability to design, develop and implement processes
- Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft office
- Master's degree in international relations, humanitarian or development studies, business administration, or another relevant field

Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is a leading protection agency with a mandate to protect, advocate and promote durable solutions for displacement affected populations.
DRC has been operating in Ukraine since 2014, currently DRC employs over 400 staff in Ukraine and will continue significant scale-up in 2023 to implement emergency response in the Protection, Livelihoods, Shelter/NFIs and Humanitarian Disarmament and Peacebuilding (humanitarian mine action) sectors, using direct interventions, support to duty bearers and civil society organizations (CSOs), and partnerships with CSOs. DRC will continue and adapt its durable solutions portfolio to the evolving context.
Overall purpose of the role:
The DRC Ukraine grants management manager will be responsible for overseeing the effective functionality of the grants department. The grants management manager will manage the grants team including a grants specialist, coordinator, and officers. The grants manager is responsible for establishing grant management systems which apply across all grants and implementing partners, supporting standardized, effective and efficient grants management processes, and working with the Head of Programme to ensure that high quality deliverables are produced such as reports, concept notes, and proposals.
Main responsibilities
Proposal development • In coordination with the Head of Programme, lead proposal development processes; coordinate, collect, draft, and/or edit contributions and compile inputs from programme staff, technical advisors, HQ and/or the regional office, and partners in line with DRC’s Ukraine’s country strategy. Collaborate with the partnership manager in proposal writing processes including local implementing partners as sub-grantees
Grants management • Organise and lead grants meetings such as project kick-offs and close-out meetings in according to DRC PCM guidelines. • Provide guidance on and ensure compliance with donor and DRC rules, regulations, and guidelines and raise issues affecting external/ internal compliance • Ensure quality information management related to grants (including managing the DRC Grants Management System (GMS) and in-country documentation and trackers) • Ensure quality and timely submission of donor narrative and financial reports • Lead application process and ensure compliance regarding (no-)cost extensions, amendments, top ups, reallocations • Liaise with external key donors relating to specific grant programmatic issues • Maintain and update the donor database to identify new donors and funding opportunities in line with the strategic priorities of DRC Country and Regional Office
Capacity development • Provide technical guidance and deliver trainings on DRC and donor guidelines and proposal development and reporting to field offices.
Fundraising and donor liaison: • Support the development of DRC's fundraising strategies in cooperation with the Head of Programme • Support fundraising efforts in coordination with the country director and HoP, including undertaking donor mapping and providing briefings to in-country donor representatives • Liaise with donor representatives and coordinate donor visits to programme sites, in support to the CD and the HoP
DRC Dynamics ERP System
• Ensure DRC Dynamics is used to its full capacity • Ensure proper application of ERP grants and projects processes in the country • Apply reports and data analytics from ERP system to improve performance in the country • Ensure that Country ERP support is in place (i.e. super users)
Experience and technical competencies: (include years of experience)
