We are looking for people who are passionate about helping refugees and people forced to flee.

If you are those people, the Norwegian Refugee Council in Nigeria is looking for an enthusiastic and passionate Grants Coordinator to join our Grant Team in Maiduguri. The purpose of the Grants Coordinator position is to provide essential grant management support

In delivering quality programs in line with the NRC Country Office strategy and Plan of action.

To be successful in this role you will be a confident communicator with excellent relationship building skills, capable of establishing strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels while supporting new initiatives and learning projects across the country.

Role Responsibility

  • Develop and maintain overview of all grants, donor requirements, rules and regulations, and internal and external deadlines, including filing of grant documents (including through the grants database - forthcoming)
  • Contribute to the development and revision of funding proposals, budgets and donor reports
  • Be updated on donor priorities and track and share relevant calls for proposals
  • Document, analyze, and share learning from proposal and reporting process, and compliance with donor rules and regulations
  • Contribute to continuously improving internal grant management systems
  • Coordinate the development and distribution of internal reports
  • Contribute to Project Cycle Management trainings and usage of the NRC Project Cycle Management frame work in the Country Office as delegated by the Grants Manager.
  • Support external donor audits.
  • Represent with relevant partners and donors as delegated.
  • Promote the rights of IDPs/returnees in line with the advocacy strategy.

We are looking for

  • Proven track record of professional experience in grant management, audit and donor reporting and compliance
  • Confident communicator with the ability to build and maintain relationships with multiple stakeholders at all levels, and challenge with humility when necessary
  • Intuitive and empathetic, able to relate to others and build report
  • Highly organized, capable of operating within multiple reporting lines and managing multiple priorities successfully
  • Experience in working within a team, meeting workload requirements and being as effective through delivery as possible.
