  1. Role and responsibilities

The Grants Coordinator will contribute to achieving quality programming by closely supporting the Grants Manager in ensuring effective grants management including internal and donor compliance requirements, timely and quality reporting, as well as proposal development. S/he ensures NRC programme/support teams are informed of relevant donor compliance regulations and NRC procedures, manages donors and other external and internal reporting, and coordinates grant revisions. The Grants Coordinator is directly responsible for supporting Project Managers and Programme Specialists in the development of reports in line with the grant process flowchart, and act as the focal point for the key mandatory activities under NRC’s Project Cycle Management (PCM).

Generic responsibilities:

  1. Adherence to NRC policies, guidance, and procedures.
  2. Develop and maintain overview of all grants, donor requirements, rules and regulations, and internal and external deadlines, including filing of grant documents (including through the grants database).
  3. Support and coordinate the development of donor applications and reports, as well as ensuring donor compliance and quality control.
  4. Provide an internal help-desk on donor related issues, including organize and deliver trainings in donor rules and regulations, as well as report writing.
  5. Document, analyze, and share learning from proposal and reporting process, and compliance with donor rules and regulations.
  6. Contribute to PCM procedures and usage of the NRC PCM framework in the response office, including inclusion of cross-cutting programme elements, Finance and M&E structures throughout all stages of the PCM, as delegated by the Grants Manager.
  7. Contribute to continuously improving internal grant management systems.
  8. Coordinate the development and distribution of internal reports.
  9. Support external donor audits, as well as monitoring visits, TPMs, and other ad hoc external meetings as delegated by the Grants Manager.
  10. Support field teams in their engagement with implementing partners as per NRC’s Grants Management procedures and relevant donor regulations
  11. Promote the rights of IDPs/returnees in line with the advocacy strategy.
