Role and responsibilities

Generic responsibilities

  1. Line management of partnership field staff
  2. Adherence to NRC policies, guidance and procedures
  3. Contribute to the development and implementation of NRC’s country strategy on partnership in accordance with NRC’s global partnership policy.
  4. Lead the implementation of delegated portfolio of downstream partnership projects (activities, budget and project documentation) as delegated from Area Programme Manager in line with proposals, strategies and donor requirements, and ensure high quality.
  5. Provide regular progress reports to APM, AM and Grants Manager.
  6. Promote and share ideas for improvement and necessary changes in the activities
  7. Capacity building of project staff and transfer key skills
  8. Liaise and collaborate with relevant local authorities and other key stakeholders
  9. Promote the rights of IDPs/returnees in line with the advocacy strategy

Specific responsibilities

  • Uphold NRC principles of partnership, NRC core values and the IASC principles of partnership during the establishment of NRC partnerships, and guide the evolution of strategic partnerships over time.
  • Ensure that all partners’ program results are received, supervised, filed and in compliance with donor objectives and requirements, coordinating with program teams and other units within the NRC. Ensure that partners’ contractual reports are reviewed, and internal feedback is compiled and sent to partners in a timely manner. Advise the Grants Manager and Area Program Managers of any issues and provide timely feedback to partners.

  • Lead in organizing and conducting review meetings with partners, ensuring inputs from program, finance and compliance staff are received and included, meeting minutes taken, filed, and disseminated to Program Teams as appropriate.

  • Support follow up with Partners on the implementation of action points agreed upon during these PCM meetings.
  • Ensure that projects are supervised robustly, following‐up on implementation of partner‐specific compliance, programmatic monitoring work plans, procurement plans, budget spending, and more. Advise the Grants Manager and other relevant staff of any issues and provide timely feedback to partners.
  • Lead NRC monitoring of partners by developing annual monitoring schedule, coordinating development of monitoring tools, communicating monitoring‐related information to partners, and facilitating remote and on‐site monitoring.
  • Conduct monitoring visits and coordinate support for partners to address any concerns or issues that may arise. Ensure response and support plans are implemented.
  • Maintain partner files, including filing all appropriate communication and maintaining the Sub‐Award Tracker, assembling all requirements throughout the sub award lifecycle (such as scheduled payments, partner results, and special requirements).
  • In collaboration with relevant NRC APMs, coordinate inputs and review of sub‐award progress for donor reporting and grant review meetings to ensure that donor commitments are met.
  • Regularly map partners in the relevant Area office following NRC partnership guidelines and sector best practices.
  • Collaborate with Partnership Working Group of the NGO Forum as needed.
  • Any other related duties as assigned.
