* Purpose of the Position
To provide support at the national level in the area of grant management and programme support for the WHO Country Office (WCO), participating in enhancing efficiency and effectiveness in the operations of grant management related activities, programme delivery through effective assistance of financial and project specific resources, support to work plan and budget implementation, related monitoring and reporting initiatives.
2. Job Description
* Objectives of the Programme and of the immediate Strategic Objective
To ensure that effective WHO country presence is established to formulate, evaluate and implement WHO country cooperation strategies that are aligned with Member State's health development agendas that aims to increase access to and effectiveness of high quality health care, sound Health Financing and Human Resources strategies and better Health Governance.

Under the direct supervision and guidance of the External Relations Officer and the overall direction of the Head of the WCO, the incumbent will provide support in grant management and work planning activities of the WCO and support the monitoring of financial and technical implementation of the grants as well as a vast array of other programme projects. In collaboration with Finance and all relevant staff within the WCO, the incumbent will collect and analyze relevant data and prepare quarterly budget implementation reports linked to the ongoing performance of WCO grants and other programme activities. The position will support Planning and External Relations cluster in the management of grant deliverablesand other programme activities. The incumbent will exchange information with national counterparts in donor grant organizations as well as provide regular reports on programmes funded through grant donations and its performance.
* Summary of Assigned Duties (Describe what the incumbent has to do to achieve main objectives; include main achievements expected)
1. Support the management of operational planning and monitoring process of grant management.
2. Participate in the development and tracking of the WCO programme workplans, liaising with managers across the WCO in ensuring workplans are developed and remain on target.
3. Provide input on the status of various grants and its performance as well as provide input in identifying funding gaps.
4. Support work plan implementation by liaising with the Regional Office, and exchange information with national counterparts in donor agencies to identify support and ensure necessary reporting on programme performance on activities funded through various grants.
5. Develop tracking tools and conduct grant finance monitoring of planned activities, cost projections, and follow up with programme managers on activity performance.
6. Prepare periodic reports on the grant implementation to ensure the smooth tracking and response on the performance of activities.

* Essential: A minimum of two years experience in the area of grant management and/or the administration of programme and budget activities. Demonstrated experience working with costings and other financial tracking sheets.
Desirable: Experience working in the United Nations system or another international organization.
Use of Language Skills
