What we are looking for

NRC is looking for a Grand Bargain Senior Adviser to join the organisation. The role holder will be responsible for producing and developing high quality concept notes, developing strategies and plans, enhancing and strengthening strategic communication and outreach, and building links with outside processes and stakeholders. The Grand Bargain Senior Adviser will act as the main contact point for the Grand Bargain Facilitation Group Sherpas and will oversee and support Secretariat processes.

If you are a proactive and collaborative professional, with excellent interpersonal and facilitation skills, and a proven ability to translate complex issues into clear, accessible messaging for diverse audiences, then this is the role for you!

What you will do

  • Strategy development and implementation.
  • Communication strategies and outreach efforts oversight.
  • Strategic communication and engagement with non-signatories and external stakeholders.
  • Consultants and external support oversight.
  • Planning and organising meetings.
  • Monitoring, reporting, and assessment leadership and oversight.
  • Facilitation Group Sherpas main point of contact.
  • Reports, concept notes, option papers, briefing notes, and other materials development.

  • The Grand Bargain, launched during the WHS in Istanbul in May 2016, is a unique agreement between some of the largest donors and humanitarian organisations who have committed to get more means into the hands of people in need and to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the humanitarian action.
  • The Grand Bargain is a unique forum bringing together donors and aid organisations to drive progress on a common vision of maximising the impact of humanitarian work. The process is supported by a light Secretariat, responsible for overall coordination and communication in the process, and for providing specific support to the governance bodies, namely the Grand Bargain Ambassadors and the Facilitation Group.
  • The Secretariat is hosted by the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) in the Humanitarian Hub in Geneva.

What we offer
