You have:
- Two to three years of work experience including consulting style experience
- Working experience in the public sector or international organisations is an added advantage
- Undergraduate degree, preferably in Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field, from a recognized university
- Fluent in English and Amharic
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Excellent verbal and writing skills

Role Summary
Join us in driving digital transformation, working closely with the Ethiopian Artificial Intelligence Institute! Are you committed to driving positive change in government and contributing to Ethiopia’s development? We are looking for a highly motivated Digital Transformation Intern to join our team in Ethiopia. The Intern will work with the Digital Transformation team in the TBI Ethiopia Office to design, implement, and monitor priority AI projects that lead to meaningful and sustainable social and/or economic impact.
You will report to our Lead Advisor on Digital Transformation projects and collaborate with diverse government stakeholders, TBI teams in Ethiopia, and global colleagues across the Institute to ensure we achieve our planned ambitions.
This is a hands-on position that requires strong coordination and communication skills, analytical thinking, and an ability to thrive in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.
This is a full-time, 6 months contract based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The Intern is expected to work primarily at the TBI Ethiopia Office and the Ethiopian Artificial Intelligence Institute (EAII). This position is open to Ethiopian Nationals only.
Key Responsibilities
The key responsibilities of this role will include:
Coordinate delivery of the AI Summer Camp Talent Development Program
- Collaborate with the EAII team to execute the AI Summer Camp program.
- Assess the delivery and outcomes of the Summer Camp and provide actionable recommendations for improvement and scale-up in 2026.
- Mentor students during the development of practical projects in the summer camp.
Support AI capacity building initiatives
- Conduct an impact assessment of AI training courses provided by TBI and Apolitical through surveys, interviews, and/or data analysis.
- Organize and facilitate meet-up sessions for EAII trained staff to gather feedback on course impact and promote a culture of applying AI in their work
- Provide actionable recommendations to inform the design and rollout of broader AI capacity-building initiatives across the civil service.
Perform research, analysis and contribute to the design of TBI’s future AI projects
- Engage with EAII and TBI colleagues to identify and support prioritization of AI initiatives that can deliver meaningful impact - ensuring clear timelines, resource requirements, and success metrics are defined.
- Prepare and present bi-monthly progress reports to TBI and EAII outlining key achievements, lessons learned, and next steps.

Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree, preferably in Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field, from a recognized university.
- Strong technical background, demonstrated through academic training or professional ICT qualifications.
- Working experience in the public sector or international organisations is an added advantage
