World Vision Internships provide a three-month opportunity for exceptional students and recent graduates ready to explore a career in the international relief and development sector. BEFORE APPLYING, make sure you meet the following requirements:

  • Able to commit to at least 24 hours per week for the entire internship period: 20 May – 16 August.
  • Eligible to work in the United States.
  • Must have a valid US Social Security Number.
  • Be physically located in one of the following states where WVI is registered as an employer: Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, District of Columbia (Washington D.C.), Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, and Washington.
  • Current student or recent graduate from an undergraduate or graduate programme (within 2 years).
  • Adhere to World Vision International’s Christian Statement of Faith.
  • Willingness to use own electronic devices for internship purposes, and disposition to let WVI install endpoint security software on those devices.

DETAILS

  • Stipend: All US-based interns are paid a monthly stipend of $800
  • Hours: Full-time and part-time opportunities are available (24-40 hours/week)
  • Internship Location: Remote within the US (see eligible states above).
  • Appropriate Fields of Study/Majors: Background in Global/Public Health or related field.

INTERNSHIP DESCRIPTION

At the Global Centre’s Health and Nutrition, a Global Fund Unit (GFU), has been established to manage World Vision’s partnership with the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis (TB), and Malaria (the Global Fund). The unit provides overall management support to all the Global Funded programmes across the partnership, oversees the internal business processes, and coordinates other Global Centre units to provide management and technical assistance.

As a Global Fund intern, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Develop your data collection, communication, and report-writing skills.
  • Become familiar with the Global Fund, which is a partnership designed to accelerate the end of AIDS, tuberculosis, and malaria as epidemics.

The intern’s responsibilities will include:

  • Assist in keeping the Global Fund Unit's knowledge management platform up-to-date, monitoring and posting updated guidance, tools, announcements, articles, and stories.
  • Support in coordinating World Vision's Global Fund Interest Group activities which included regular meetings and communication.
  • Assistance in preparing/updating fact sheets, case studies, brochures, and other lessons learned documentation.
  • Support in review/improvement of the Unit's analytical tools for tracking grant opportunities and acquisition, portfolio growth, and portfolio quality assurance indicators.

Essential qualities for this role:

  • You are interested in pursuing a career in global health and/or epidemiology.
  • You have strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently to achieve the desired outcome.
  • You are proficient with MS Excel.
  • You are capable of working with basic data analytical software, tools, and methods.
  • You have experience preparing papers, reports, and studies in English.
  • You are passionate about using your God-given talents to positively impact the world.
