Contract

This is a DRC - National contract. More about DRC - National contracts.

“DRC commits to increase its ability to cultivate digital opportunities in high-quality interventions that add value for displaced communities.” A key excerpt from our DRC Strategy 2025. We cannot ignore that digital has increasing impact on displaced communities. It presents us with opportunities and challenges driving the future of our sector. We must leverage the efficiencies with digital to achieve our strategic goals of increased protection and enhanced inclusion – and we must do this in ways that allow people of concern to engage digitally, access and exercise their human rights, and keep them safe from digital harm.

Who are we?

The Danish Refugee Council is working in 40 countries and keeps expanding its global reach. In that tremendous growth, the need for a global, robust IT organisation has become more and more important to ensure we continue to provide efficient security and protection to the people we serve. We balance development of new innovative projects and programs with maintenance and expansion of our ERP platform in Microsoft Dynamics. In all activities, we have security and data protection in sight and have the ambition to keep strengthening that area.

About the job

The Global Digital Lead is the digital lighthouse and focal point of the organisation. The digitalisation programme needs global transparency, alignment, and oversight. You set the frame, manage the innovation approach, guide stakeholders and colleagues seeking to select and deploy digital solutions. You act as advisor as well and project manager – and create engagement and support for pursuing digital from both internal and external stakeholders. The digital roadmap and key priorities for the DRC is for you to establish, anchor, deliver, and publish.

  • Drive digital adoption across the DRC
  • Deliver the digitalisation strategy revision and roadmap for key priorities
  • Engage colleagues, stakeholders, executive management, partners, and donors in the effort to pursue digital ambition while ensuring sound technical choices and compliant data management.
  • Manage the necessary communication and governance efforts to create transparency of the global digital effort and ensure that it delivers the intended value for DRC and it’s beneficiaries
  • Engage in dialogue with external partners to gain funding and support for secure IT and digitalisation platforms as critical foundation for our assistance to displaced populations over the course of our Strategy 2025.

About you

You will create a culture of digital innovation, engage colleagues across functional and geographical barriers to focus our digital transformation directly on assisting displaced communities, on materialising internal efficiencies, and strengthening our advocacy and doner engagements. You have successfully delivered on promise of digital. You are driven to do more with less, seeking creative solutions to both small and big problems. You want to see progress and will drive us towards new digital capabilities that pave the way for a DRC fit for the digital future.

To be successful in this role we expect you to have at least 5 years documented project management experience, a broad knowledge base within the digital technology, vendor and solution landscape. You are a strong communicator who conveys the digital priority convincingly and in easily appreciated terms to those from whom you need sponsorship. You know how to leverage key IT methodologies and demonstrate the ability to turn challenge into opportunity - with colleagues within and outside the IT organisation. You are pragmatic and focused on delivering solid solutions within DRC strategy and mission.

Moreover, we also expect the following:

Required

  • Hold an academic master's degree
  • Have strong analytical and reporting skills
  • Track record of successful digital delivery
  • Knowledge of key IT methodologies (PMI, Agile, ITIL).
  • Execute against set plans and drive focus on goals and outcomes
  • Be persistent, resilient and structured
  • A strong technology knowledge base
  • Experience with open source community engagement and solution development
  • Not scared from REST API, Github, Power Platform, GDPR or IT security compliance.
  • Show strong and inclusive interpersonal skills
  • Fluency in written and spoken English.

Desirable

  • NGO-experience
  • Experience working in global and cross functional teams
  • Knowledge of French and Danish is desirable
