Contract
This is a UNV contract. More about UNV contracts.
UNDP Lebanon is supporting national efforts to strengthen sustainable mobility and improve public transport planning. Recent public transport initiatives have created opportunities to develop more integrated, demand-responsive network planning approaches for the Greater Beirut Area.
This assignment will support early-stage analytical work to help develop a conceptual public transport network map based on spatial demand, connectivity, and accessibility considerations.
The assignment contributes to evidence-based mobility planning and supports broader sustainable transport and urban accessibility objectives.
The Online Volunteer will support GIS-based research and spatial analysis to contribute to the development of a conceptual bus-based public transport network map for the Greater Beirut Area.
The assignment will focus on compiling and structuring spatial datasets, analyzing road network connectivity and population distribution, and supporting the development of a demand-oriented bus public transport network concept.
The work will use publicly available and project-provided datasets to identify key mobility corridors, connectivity needs, and potential bus public transport service structures.
The assignment is analytical and research-oriented and will be conducted fully remotely. Field validation may be considered in later project phases but are not part of this assignment.
The volunteer is expected to prepare a GIS-based conceptual bus public transport network map for Greater Beirut Area, based on spatial demand patterns, connectivity analysis, and urban accessibility considerations.
