You have:
- Bachelor's degree in Geography Information System or Geomatic and Geospatial Engineering, engineering surveying, Geography.
- Diploma level qualification in the above fields coupled with 5+ years hands-on experience in a busy office is acceptable.
- 3+ years of experience in a busy office handling Geographic information management systems (GIS) and more importantly in the WASH sector.
- Demonstrated strong technical capacity in dealing with GIS and remote sensing software, tools, databases and infrastructure.
- Previous exposure to mWater will be an added advantage.
- Clear understanding of Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) portfolio.
- Impressive IT skills with great zeal for data manipulation, handling, collating, cleaning and presentation.

Key Responsibilities:
Geographical information systems (GIS) data collection, handling and management (GIS and mWater Development and Compliance)
- Develop/rollout GIS system and databases for all World Vision PNG WASH Programs
- Coordinate GIS and mWater efforts from the National office and all the area Programs in PNG.
- Participate in development of monitoring tools and incorporate spatial analysis into the methodologies so that change can be visualized spatially
- Develop specifications for additional GIS/ and GPS related hardware and software
- Produce maps for WASH Programs and Projects. This includes mapping of all water and sanitation points/infrastructure in Oriomo Bituri LLG (our National office USC -PBI) and beyond
- Ensure GIS business processes, standards and policies are developed in coordination with other WVPNG entities are effectively and consistently used by operations staff. This include Umben.
- Keep track of WASH universal coverage progress using spatial analysis to guide planning and effective monitoring.
GIS Data Collection, Analysis, Management and Reporting
- Field visits to monitor GIS operationalization in programs/projects and collect data
- Conduct research to locate and obtain existing databases.
- Analyse spatial data for geographic statistics to incorporate into documents and reports.
- Compile geographic data from a variety of sources including customer surveys, field Observation, satellite imagery, aerial photographs, and existing maps.
- Prepares, updates, and distributes GIS maps and new information within the organization
- Prepare and provide GIS reports which are evidence-based, based on the data collected from the project areas and share with the programs and staff for sharing with the stakeholders in a simple map depicting change/impact
- Maintain inventory of system maps as related to GIS (converts from CAD when necessary)
Capacity Building and learning
- Keep current with new GIS and GPS information and technology (updates the systems)
- Prepare training materials and make presentations to WVPNG Staff and partners
- Guide GIS system users in creating requirements for GIS Software
Writes documentation to support software
Provide training and support to the WASH field staff and relevant partners for effect implementation of spatial data management and data collection
- Closely coordinate all the WASH learnings with the respective project coordinators/ managers and share learnings with the WASH Portfolio manager and WVUS.
Advocacy, Engagement, coordination and Networking
- Ensure high quality presentation of GIS and mWater products to WVPNG staff, donors, NGOs, Government and other stakeholders. Maintain Linkages with partners (NGOs, Districts and National government, church, bilateral and multilateral agencies) in resources mapping for development interventions;
- Maintain a good working relationship with PMUs- UMBEN, the PNGs Water Management Information System
- Actively coordinate, implement and manage all aspects of WVUS base-funding in close collaboration with M&E and, Finance and other WASH managers and coordinators.
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION/SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in Geography Information System or Geomatic and Geospatial Engineering, engineering surveying. Geography.
- A diploma level qualification (in the above fields) coupled with 5+ years hands-on experience and in a busy office is acceptable.
- 3+ years of experience in a busy office handling Geographic information management systems (GIS) and more importantly in the WASH sector
- Demonstrated strong technical capacity in dealing with GIS and remote sensing software, tools, databases and infrastructure(drones)
- Previous exposure to mWater will be an added advantage.

- Impressive IT Surfy with great zeal for data manipulation, handling, collating, cleaning and presentation
