Ensure effective GIK Planning and inclusion of disability in programs.

You have:

  • Minimum requirements include a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Social Sciences, statistics, planning, logistics, warehouse management or business administration
  • 3 years’ experience in GIK, Disability inclusion or warehouse management
  • Excellent skills in planning, organizing and implementing good systems to track commodities transactions
  • Knowledge of port operations, clearing and forwarding, dispatch and logistics planning, warehousing, storekeeping, bookkeeping
  • Fluent oral and written communication in English and French and expresses ideas in a sensitive manner within the context of humanitarian approach
  • Able to work under pressure

Key Responsibilities:

Major Responsibilities

  • Ensure GIK Planning Is properly conducted, and Disability inclusion is mainstreamed in WVIB programming
  • Work with project resource acquisition and management team, technical staff, cluster staff and other relevant staff to ensure smooth GIK planning, through timely identification of community GIK needs and projects integrations Field staff capacity is built on GIK planning;
  • National Office contribution to Child well-being is increased through GIK Contribution.
  • World Vision Burundi has mainstreamed disability in all projects and program;
  • Lead the GIK allocation and distribution within World Vision projects and programs as focusing to children and families including children with disabilities
  • To regularly updated on government regulation & process in terms of importation and tax exemption. To preserve the impact of GIK on local market, ensure t products shipped to Burundi are meeting safety guidelines, cultural appropriateness, and environmental impact;
  • Ensure the appropriateness for acceptance of GIK is done with relevant sector specialists for approval;
  • Ensure the Allocation and distribution include PLWD;
  • Make regular update regarding PLWD and consider their needs

  • Ensure reporting and documentation of GIK impact are done according to Donors/SO requirements including disabilities components
  • Monthly, semi-annual and annual reports (narratives & quantitative) are consolidated. Quarterly impact stories produced shared by Comms team on WV social network/ linked to GIK global news;
  • Reports of receipt of GIK shipment are timely produced as required by donors/Sos;
  • New system (GIK software) in line with the donor requirements To regular collaborate with DME;
  • Reports on disability inclusions interventions;
  • Act with accountability to manage the resources, by ensuring that inventory and control process are properly conducted
  • Strengthen partnership with relevant technical Government sectors, FBOs and CBOs mainly those in charge of taking care people living with disabilities;
  • Have a regular meeting with GIK distribution committee, partners such network of churches leaders (RCBIF), network of PWDs coordination (RCPHB, government departments that are involved in GIK business such MoH (PRONIANUT, DPML, MTCN, PNLP), Foreign Affairs Ministry and Finance Ministry (OBR);
  • Ensure partnership with Orphanage and centers of PWDs (People with Disabilities) is strengthened;
  • Collaborate with PWD organization to bring needed support to children and adult with disabilities
