Overview

Support consolidation and implementation of gender-focused projects

You have:

  • Advance university degree from an accredited educational institution in Social Sciences, project management or a related field.
  • At least 8 years of experience in humanitarian protection programs with a focus on gender and GBV.
  • The consultant will be paid monthly the amount of $2,065.0.

Result of Service The consultant will support consolidating the gains from previous project implementation and make strides on community engagement, gender, and GBV information and analysis, and strengthen internal mechanisms to coordinate GBV prevention and response services. Overall responsibility for the project will rest with the Protection Division, jointly implemented primarily with Health and Relief and Social Services (RSS) departments. A project implementation team comprised of key staff from these departments will provide the required technical support and project management oversight.

Duties and Responsibilities- Support the development and monitoring of gender related projects plan, timeline, and activities. - Ensure the timely, effective and quality implementation of gender focused projects activities in close coordination with relevant UNRWA programmes (e.g., RSS, Health) and field offices. - Systematically develop the capacity of UNRWA frontline staff in preventing, mitigating, and responding to GBV, by developing training plans, preparing guidance and training materials, and facilitating training sessions. - Provide technical guidance on GBV case management and safe internal and external referrals, including supporting the roll-out of relevant technical instructions. - Lead on the strengthening of referral pathways for GBV in all UNRWA field offices in line with the Inter-Agency Minimum Standards for GBV in Emergencies Programming. - Provide support for community engagement and consultation efforts on gender issues at the field level, including identifying effective strategies to engage men and boys. - Contribute to the establishment of and participate in existing UNRWA coordination mechanisms on protection and gender; assist relevant UNRWA programmes to strengthen engagement with inter-agency coordination mechanisms. - Support in the planning and implementation of awareness-raising activities and communications to sensitize UNRWA staff on gender topics, with greater focus on GBV. - Collaborate in the development of the project monitoring and evaluation (M&E) strategy and ensure its implementation through the monitoring of program activities and timely reporting on progress. - Keeps record of gender related information and trends from internal and external sources and support the strengthening of data collection, analysis and reporting on gender related matters and, where relevant, provide inputs on the drafting of communication and advocacy materials. - Performs other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.
