PAHO/WHO in Colombia works to strengthen institutional capacity to prevent violence against women, contributing to the improvement of the health sector's response to the phenomenon, generating scientific evidence to make the phenomenon of violence more visible, working hand in hand with national institutions, specifically with the Ministry of Health and Social Protection, providing technical support for the development and review of national policies and plans for the prevention of and response to violence against women, It technically and logistically strengthens the health systems and, in general, the intersectoral coordination spaces, including the justice and protection sectors, seeking to generate a comprehensive positive impact on women victims and carries out advocacy actions to close gaps, strengthen the institutional system and community support networks so that women can generate recovery and resilience processes.

Under the direct supervision of PAHO/WHO Family, Health Promotion and Life Course Advisor, the UN Volunteer will undertake the following tasks:

•Logistical and technical support for capacity building actions related to gender main-streaming and GBV. •Participation in articulation spaces for the coordinated response to GBV in Colombia. •Support in the revision of technical documents related to gender equity, violence against women and gender approach. •Support in the construction of documents that show the key points of the inter-agency articulation spaces. •Participation in capacity building spaces on issues related to gender equality and GBV. •Perform other duties related to the position as assigned by the supervisor.

•Demonstrated interest and/or experience (up to two years) in human rights, differential approaches, gender equality, gender mainstreaming and gender-based violence. •Previous experience as a volunteer and/or experience of another culture, (i.e. studies, volunteer work, internship) would be highly regarded; •Proficiency in Office tools (Office 365 desirable) •Writing skills •MS Windows 10 Enterprise. •Knowledge of SNU and Colombia is a plus.
