This is a UNV National Youth contract. This kind of contract is known as National UN Volunteer. It is normally only for nationals. More about UNV National Youth contracts.

This UNV assignment is part of WFP Gender and Social Inclusion unit.

The UN Volunteer (Gender & Social Inclusion) will serve within the Programme Unit under the supervision of the Gender Officer at the WFP Lebanon Country Office. The main purpose of the assignment is to advance the strengthening of gender equality and social inclusion efforts, based on all relevant WFP policies and guidelines across the Lebanon Country Office and Field Offices’ activities.

Under the direct supervision of Gender Officer, the National UN Youth Volunteer will:

• Assist in facilitating research, analysis and reporting of the gender and social inclusion • Coordinate with the COMET, programme and IT teams to develop the CO Gender and Social Inclusion electronic newsletter • Assist in the completion of gender, age and disability markers-monitoring phase • Assist I the implementation of the 16 days of activism and international women’s day • Assist in drafting the gender annual reports • Assist in the desk review and proof reading of the Gender and social inclusion studies and knowledge management products; and • Any other related tasks as may be required or assigned by the supervisor.

humanitarian context including experience in gender and social inclusion Motivated to contribute towards peace and development and to serve others; • Good interpersonal, networking and communication skills; • Willingness to contribute and work as part of a team; • Flexible and open to learning and new experiences; • Respect for diversity and adaptability to other cultures, environments and living conditions; • Previous experience as a volunteer and/or experience of another culture, (i.e. studies, volunteer work, internship) would be highly regarded; • Computer skills (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, social media, and others).

As this is a national UN Volunteer assignment, the UN Volunteer will be responsible for arranging his/her own housing and other living essentials. This position is based in Beirut Country Office National UN Volunteers are part of the malicious insurance plan. National UN Volunteers are expected to be culturally sensitive and adjust to the prevailing culture and traditions.
