Result of Service - Organisation of two forum/conference/meeting concept notes including the main themes. - Improve coordination with South Sudan based CSOs to engage national partners on CRSV/SGBV. - Enable the South Sudan government to produce a brief documenting good practices, challenges and lessons learned on integrating gender in R-ACSS. - Train Government of South Sudan integrates Gender in human rights reporting. - SGBV cases documented and victims and witnesses interviewed. - Analysis of the gender impact and SGBV incorporated in all reports of Commission on Human Rights in South Sudan.

Work Location Juba, South Sudan

Expected duration Until 31 March 2024, subject to availability of funds

Duties and Responsibilities Provide technical advice on the integration of a gender analysis in the work of the Commission on Human Rights in South Sudan.

Document gender-based human rights violations, including SGBV, for the Group of Human Rights Experts.

Provide strategic guidance and inputs to the drafting of reports from the Commission on human rights in South Sudan, ensuring that such documents reflect SGBV and other gender-based human rights violations and abuses, and integrate a gender perspective and use gender-sensitive language.

Qualifications/special skills Advanced degree in international Law, gender studies, political science and related area Minimum 7 years in the field of human rights, political affairs and related field.

Minimum of 2 years experience in gender related issues.

Languages French and English are the official languages of the United Nations. For the post advertised, fluency in English is required.
