  1. General Background

UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, is offering a full time position within the Private Sector Partnerships (PSP) Service.

This position is within the Supporter Engagement Section which is comprised of Fundraising Campaigns, Individual Giving and Digital Marketing teams and operates within the broader Private Sector Partnerships (PSP) section in HQ. The function of PSP HQ, among others, is to support our 40 fundraising offices around the world with their national fundraising.

This position sits within the Innovation/Solution Development team. The purpose of this recently developed area is to promote a flourishing culture of effective fundraising solutions, beyond our business as usual and across the PSP network, based on sound innovation principles to optimize income and engagement.

This area is instrumental in addressing strategic aims of the PSP strategy 2.0 and is being prioritized as such, because of its potential to grow PSP’s income exponentially, overcome fundraising challenges and to future-proof our operations. The Innovation/Solution Development team is responsible for the effective creation and delivery of this strategic area.

  1. Purpose and Scope of Assignment

As the Fundraising Innovation Officer, the incumbent will play a crucial role in actively promoting a grassroot culture of innovation in PSP, by ensuring the innovation methodology is applied across the network and project managing and supporting innovation sprints and tests across PSP markets, regions and headquarter teams. They will be responsible for providing guidance, expertise, and hands-on support to our teams in executing experiments, and utilizing various testing platforms, digital marketing tools, and analytics to maximize our impact.

Tasks and responsibilities

• Support in promoting and cultivating innovation culture in PSP o Update and optimise solution development content as part of Welcome and Onboarding process of colleagues o Coordinate and oversee the PSP Board of Innovation Champions group o Prepare innovation sessions and burnt pancake sessions at global and regional Skillshares o Run annual survey, in coordination with Capacity Building team, of PSP network’s innovation priorities and share results with all relevant stakeholders

• Foster sharing and best practices within PSP network o Coordinate monthly feature in the PSP Share, news digest o Actively participate and contribute to Reimagining Fundraising, an innovation initiative with 12 other INGOs

• Innovation/Solution Development Portfolio Management: o Develop and launch the platform (i.e. SharePoint site) for Solutions Development o Develop and maintain a portfolio overview of different initiatives along the innovation pipeline, to ensure successful execution of innovation initiatives.

• Lead on ensuring insights and assumption validation inform solution development o Oversee capacity building of insights tools and methodology o Oversee segmentation framework project (Demand Spaces) • Coordinate innovation sprints and tests within different fundraising markets. o Collaborate with cross-functional teams and across the Private Sector Partnerships (PSP) network to set clear objectives and timelines. o Work closely with fundraising teams to ideate, design, execute and analyze Minimum Viable Products (MVPs)

  1. Qualifications and Experience

a. Education Undergraduate degree (equivalent of a BA/BS) in a related field (e.g., Marketing, Business, or Innovation Management)

b. Work Experience

• Bachelor degree in combination with at least 6 years of previous relevant work experience with a focus on fundraising innovation, portfolio management, digital marketing, testing and tracking. • Graduate degree (equivalent of a Master’s) plus 5 years or Doctorate degree (equivalent of a PhD) plus 4 year of previous relevant work experience may also be accepted. • Proven experience in project management and innovation within a non-profit or fundraising context. Experience in agile methodologies is an asset. • Proven track record of revenue generation experience in complex nonprofit fundraising or commercial settings • Experience with testing and experimentation platforms and methodologies. • Proficiency in creating and optimizing landing pages and managing digital advertising campaigns. • Proven experience with tracking results, tweaking • Experience with working in an UN organization is an asset • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build and maintain relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.

  1. Location and Conditions

This is a remote-working position. The successful candidate will be home-based.

This position is initially up to the end of the year with possibility of extension subject to budget availability and overall performance of the incumbent. It is a full-time role starting from 8.30am to 5pm Monday to Friday (40 hours per week).

The remuneration level and the applicable entitlements and benefits may be different based on the residence of the most suitable selected candidate.
