The UNICEF Ecuador office contributes to the implementation of the country program with funds that are raised by the fundraising team. To get the funds, it uses various fundraising channels such as F2F, Telemarketing, Digital and DRTV, with campaigns to get individual donors to maintain a recurring monthly donation for as long as possible.

At the moment, Ecuador CO manages an important houselist base of recurring donors who contribute with flexible funds for it´s local cooperation program as well as for the regional and global needs.

To keep these donors faithful to the cause, loyalty, retention and maximization strategies are implemented, with the aim of keeping them contributing as long as possible.

How can you make a difference?

The main purpose of the post is to attract and cultivate long term relations with individual donors’ channel to secure and increase a sustainable source of pledged contributions and develop and maintain statistical and behavioral information of the individual donors. The strategy considers donor retention and value maximization. This post works by the general supervision of the Individual Fundraising Officer and the general guidance of the Fundraising Manager, supports in the planning, implementation and monitoring of the fundraising retention/cultivation strategy (line and circle) and the donor maximization strategy.

Planning and implementing the cultivation strategy for house list pledge donors:

  • Analyze the objectives, strategies, contents, tools, design, components and timing of the different activities and campaigns (short line and circle)
  • Under the supervision of the Individual Fundraising Officer Implement the cultivation and value maximization strategies for house list by follow up the design, production of printed and digital material.
  • Prepare reports of the results and evaluation of the KPI´s to continue or adjust the work plan to ensure the maximum impact of the retention efforts and savings.
  • Keep updated the list donors information to maintain contact through the different channels.
  • In coordination with the call centers, agencies, couriers and other partners, follow up donations and information request from house list donors.

Gather relevant information to support the cultivation strategy

  • Under the supervision of the Fundrasing Officer compile and analyze relevant data from the individual fundraising operation, other fundraising competitors and the market to implement new and innovative actions aimed at strengthening donor loyalty.
  • Analyze the donor database to enhance the retention of pledge donors.
  • Search for regional and global information on best practices and campaigns that can be implemented to improve the cultivation strategy (loyalty, retention and maximization campaigns).
  • Monitor, train and follow up call center team to improve the operational performance and give feedback to improve the results.).

    Promote cross-functional coordination and collaboration with other areas:

  • Provide support to other PFP colleagues and areas by identifying and using performance indicators and reports.

  • Maintain a positive and collaborative working relationship with partners.

Administrative matters

  • Review supplier pre-invoices and approve their billing.
  • Follow up of payments, preparation of events and documents related to campaigns among others.
  • Provide technical support to search and evaluate potential suppliers, prepare terms of reference for quotations. Follow up quotation process.
  • Monitor budgets and financial expenditures of section, ensuring compliance with UNICEF rules and regulations, keeping supervisor informed and advised on actions for decision/follow up.
  • Maintain reports updated and the flow- of on-going administrative activities and other routing matters.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

  • Completion of secondary education is required and a professional and/or university courses related to the field or work are highly desirable.
  • A minimum of 6 years of relevant professional experience in marketing, promotional or fundraising areas. Experience in working for international organizations would be desirable.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish is required.
