UNICEF Serbia Private Sector Plan focuses on the ambitious targets for income growth from the individuals and business sector. Regular monthly income growth represents strategic focus of the office. Face-to-face fundraising has been identified as a central technique for acquisition of regular monthly donors and the office has secured significant growth of regular monthly income through this channel in the last three years. In addition, more effective use of digital communications represents a valuable opportunity for UNICEF in terms of both brand engagement and income generation.

How can you make a difference?

Under the supervision and guidance of the Fundraising Specialist and the Fundraising Officers, the Associate will assist in planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of fundraising activities within individual giving, ensuring effective and timely delivery that is consistent with UNICEF rules and regulations.

Key functions/accountabilities:

  • Researches, analyses and compiles qualitative and quantitative data from a variety of sources to facilitate preparation of reports, working papers and presentations.
  • Drafts project documents, work plans, budgets and proposals on implementation arrangements.
  • Assists in monitoring and developing performance reports of pledge programme on regular basis, as well as tracking of all private sector income.
  • Coordinates with finance section to verify all in-house data entry, including donor gifts and donor records.
  • Reconciles bank transactions in Donor Perfect, ensures accuracy and security of the database, maintains data hygiene and support on Donor Perfect functions.
  • Assists with the implementation of fundraising initiatives, such as direct mailing to the house list, pledge acquisition and retention initiatives, SMS, DRTV campaigns, telemarketing, providing efficient administrative support.
  • Supports the coordination of fundraising activities, organization of local events (such as donor events) and mobilization of volunteer support.
  • Coordinates pledge payment processing; ensures back-end fulfilment are completed for all individual donors; answers any donor inquiries and follow-up as required.
  • Assists in the preparation and implementation of donor engagement and stewardship programme in order to improve donor retention and servicing.
  • Carries out transactions in VISION ensuring programme results, activities and programme coding are as per annual work plans (AWPs), and makes amendments and alterations as per section revisions when necessary.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

  • Minimum secondary education, preferably supplemented by technical or university courses related to the work of the statistics, communication, and marketing.
  • A minimum of six years of progressively responsible work in sales and marketing, of which at least two years is closely related to support of fundraising.
  • For candidates that hold a university degree, a minimum of four years of experience can be accepted.
  • Fluency in Serbian and advance level of English is required.
  • Advance computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with SAP and database management is highly desirable.
