The fundraising operation’s focus is on pledge where individual donors’ acquisition plays a key role to sustain the expansion of the fundraising operation in the country.

After having established the basis of donor’s acquisition through the Face to Face and Telemarketing channels, the diversification and development of new channels is a must to keep the upward trend of income and donors acquired along the past years.

The development and progress of a growing channel requires a full time professional able to handle and take advantage of the opportunities in the digital sector which will impact directly to the donors’ acquisition strategy which implies knowledge of trends, different digital channels, key performance indicators, the monitoring of a different numbers of activities with different timelines, decision taking to ensure an optimum implementation and gathering of different sources of information to compile a strong acquisition digital strategy and results.

These functions rely on the new Digital Fundraising Assistant (Digital Fundraiser) GS5, who will directly report to the Individuals Fundraising Officer.

How can you make a difference?

The job function of the post, under the general supervision of the Fundraising Officer (Individual Giving) and in close cooperation with the Fundraising Assistant (Acquisition) and the Fundraising Assistant (Retention) as well as other PFP areas, will assist with the development of the Digital Fundraising strategy and will be in charge to implement it, covering the full spectrum of digital marketing – from lead generation to optimizing direct online conversion.

The post will work in close collaboration with the Digital team in PFP Geneva and Panama.

Summary of key functions/accountabilities:

Increase UNICEF Ecuador income through donor acquisition and donor retention:

Supports the digital fundraising strategy and annual workplan preparation by analysing the market potential and UNICEF best in class fundraising activities.

  • Search and analyze digital fundraising trends, opportunities, and challenges, in addition to best-in-class digital fundraising within the UNICEF network.
  • Support the creation of the digital fundraising strategy 2024-2026 in line with the Fundraising Strategic Plan.
  • Supports the development and implementation of the annual workplans which will ensure the strategy is realized.
  • Works and monitors the digital CRO (conversion rate optimization) and digital agencies to deliver KPI’s related to the digital strategy and annual workplan. Contributes to strategic planning discussions by putting forward ideas to improve our communications based on up-to-date knowledge of digital communication and e-marketing trends.

Implement digital Fundraising initiatives, including acquisition (pledge, leads, one-offs) and donor retention campaigns to deliver fundraising KPI’s across all digital channels

  • Monitor all digital channels (i.e. SEM/SEO, Social Media, Website, E-Mail, Display and Re-Marketing) to deliver fundraising KPI’s
  • Develop and implement a CRO (conversion rate optimization) strategy.
    • Create content storytelling ads – video and audio for the use of PFP area.
    • Develop and optimize website, emails, prepare imagery and manage CMS systems.
    • Coordinate the digital agency services to ensure successful execution of the digital work plan and strategy.
    • Develop and implement digital acquisition campaigns to realize fundraising KPI’s.
  • Digital Performance Measurement.
    • Creation of metrics plan and definition of performance indicators.
    • Proposition of improvements / evolution.
    • Generation of monthly reports.
    • Generating A / B testing actions and follow up on results.
  • Provide up-to-date analysis of digital Fundraising best practices, opportunities and trends and innovation.
    • Provide specialist advice and technical support to colleagues on matters relating to web and e-communication and communication technology.
    • Participate in global and regional digital trainings, input best in class learnings and look to implement successful activities from the network.
    • Use innovation to identify new trends on digital transformation and to develop new business models and channels.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of mechanisms and criteria to coordinate and synergize the different Fundraising digital efforts (suppliers, agencies, digital media)

    • Ensure the specific aspects of the digital platforms and e-communication including maintenance, secure data transfer, analytics, and tracking, undertaking short- and long-term projects.
    • Ensure the collating of information - Google Analytics 4, or similar - to produce reports and analyze trends.
    • Provide information relating to the website, email and text communication, and social media activity for reports and meetings as required.
    • Develop and maintain Dashboards to oversee web traffic and source analytics monitoring and reporting against key performance indicators.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

  • Completion of secondary education.University Degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communication Sciences, Digital Marketing, and additional training in a relevant field may be an advantage.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience of progressively responsible work experience in marketing, promotional or fundraising areas. Digital media is essential. Proven proficiency in the use of search engine algorithms, and promotion, content management systems, e-mail broadcasting tools, coding and analytics packages. SEO and HTML experience is recommended. Experience in marketing automation tools. Experience in any of following marketing areas: social media, web development, relationship marketing/e-CRM, search marketing, integrated media planning, and marketing communications. Knowledge of marketing campaign management processes. Developing country work experience and/or familiarity with emergency is considered an asset.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish are both required.
