Funding Source Researcher for Inclusion and Gender Equality Projects

This assignment is crucial for UNDP Venezuela. The resulting funding matrix will enable us to diversify and strengthen our project portfolio for highly vulnerable populations (women, youth, persons with disabilities, and indigenous peoples), facilitating agile resource mobilization for high-impact social interventions in the country.
Under the direct supervision of the Inclusion and Gender Equality Unit of UNDP Venezuela, the Online Volunteer will play a key role in resource mobilization efforts. Over a 12-week period, the selected volunteer will identify, map, and analyze potential funding sources for projects focused on:
- Gender equality and women's empowerment.
- Disability inclusion.
- Youth empowerment.
- Indigenous peoples.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Research & Mapping: Conduct comprehensive research to identify bilateral and multilateral donors, private foundations, international cooperation funds, and active calls for proposals aligned with the country office's priorities.
- Information Management: Design, update, and maintain a detailed Excel matrix consolidating potential donor data (donor name, regional/geographic focus, contact information, application deadlines, funding ranges, and eligibility criteria/conditions).
- Systematization: Categorize and assess the feasibility of identified funding sources to support strategic decision-making by the resource mobilization team.
Coordination::*Actively participate in weekly progress meetings with the staff of the Inclusion and Gender Equality Unit of UNDP Venezuela to review findings, calibrate search criteria, and receive feedback.
Education: Must hold a completed university degree (graduated professional) in International Relations, Political Science, Development Studies, Social Sciences, or a related field.
- Experience in fundraising (minimum 2 years)
- Language Proficiency:
- English: Advanced/Fluent is mandatory, as most donor databases, guidelines, and application packages are exclusively in English.
- Spanish: Basic. is highly preferred for smooth day-to-day internal communication and coordination with the Country Office.
- Technical Competencies:
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel (or Google Sheets) for database structuring and information management.
- Strong online research and analytical skills, with the ability to synthesize complex guidelines and terms of reference.
- Availability and Time Zone:
- Commitment to collaborate for the full 12-week duration (estimating approximately 16 to 20 hours per week).
- Direct availability to attend mandatory weekly coordination meetings (online) hours under Venezuela's time zone (GMT-4).
