  • Extensive experience in using knowledge management tools as an asset.
  • Previous experience in working with fundraising or marketing teams is required.
  • Previous experience working with UNICEF programs, humanitarian response an asset.
  • Capacity to work in a team, under pressure, and with tight deadlines.
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent writing skills in English, fluency in other UN languages is an asset.

Contract

The salary for this job should be between 142,356 USD and 186,404 USD.

The Private Sector Fundraising (PSFR) section within PFP works with National Committees and Country Offices to drive and maximize income growth for children in emergencies. The Fundraising Specialist (Emergency - Capacity Building) will work as part of the Emergency Fundraising team as a central support function for knowledge management and knowledge sharing with a specific focus on Global Humanitarian Priorities such as ACT-A COVAX HAC or Climate Change. In UNICEF’s global Strategic Plan 2018-2021, humanitarian action is identified as one of its cross-cutting priorities and accelerator for growth.

The Private Sector Humanitarian Funding Unit supports and coordinates cross-organization initiatives on humanitarian crises and sudden-onset disasters by leading global efforts in maximizing funding opportunities and supporting National Committees and PSFR Countries.

The function will play a key role in strengthening and coordinating cross-functional - as well as interdivisional – efforts to maximize income and influence around global humanitarian priorities, namely ACT A / COVAX as well as Climate Change. The incumbent will maintain and ensure the necessary supporting infrastructure is always up to date and fit for purpose and will ensure it can represent a one-stop-shop for collection and analysis of all relevant information from different stakeholders beyond the Private Sector Humanitarian Funding Team, the COVAX ACT-A Working Group in PFP, PFP Emergency Task Force, National Committees and PSFR Countries.

How can you make a difference?

1. Knowledge management and knowledge sharing

· Background materials and support for the funding “architecture” – earmarking, overheads, etc. in collaboration with technical teams, i.e. PFP Finance and PPD Humanitarian. · Knowledge management on the Emergencies hub – keeping the hub usable, up to date, complete with information, and general management of the site. · Reports and products – investment cases for the ACT A / COVAX emergency, cost calculator, updating key materials for fundraising, creating a more donor-friendly report after the HAC Sitrep is produced. · Contact with the field and support for requests for earmarked funds; helping gather “asks” to respond to donor queries for more detail. Prompt response to NCs and PSFR Countries queries with relevant linking as needed.

2. Data analysis and reporting

· Financial tracking and reporting. Real-time oversight and access to critical financial information (including insights into the kind of funding: earmarked, unearmarked, one-off, part of longer-term, etc.) to ensure evidence-based and informed decision making and ability to share with relevant stakeholders when and as needed. · Business Intelligence (regular institutional and cross-divisional updates – humanitarian financing, monthly; periodic income and activation reporting, emergencies team – PPD products.

3. Other duties as required

· Engage and contribute to the Climate Change working group

Expected Results

The Fundraising Specialist (Capacity building) will ensure the development, maintenance, and analysis of tools, processes, and data that will represent a solid backend infrastructure for the unit. The post holder will develop and drive a robust knowledge management strategy that will enable the unit and PSFR more broadly to take sound and evidence-based decisions to drive income across all audiences.
