Purpose for the job

The Fundraising Officer (Digital) role sits within the Individual Giving team as part of Private Fundraising and Partnership (PFP) Area. The officer key goal is to support UNICEF markets to maximize fundraising revenues through our Digital channels. This will be done by collaborating with markets, understanding their capabilities and challenges, providing strategy advice with follow-up on implementation and campaign support.

The job function of the post, under the general supervision of the NO-2 Fundraising Officer (Individual) and in close cooperation with the NO-1 Fundraising Officer (Acquisition) and the NO-1 Fundraising Officer Retention (Loyalty and Database), as well as other PFP areas, will assist with the development of the digital fundraising strategy and will be in charge to implement the same, covering the full spectrum of digital marketing – from lead generation to optimizing direct online conversion.

Key functions, accountabilities and related duties/tasks

1. Develop and execute the Digital Fundraising Strategy and annual workplan

2. Lead and Deliver the Fundraising Digital Revenue Strategy and campaigns

3. Provide campaign and omnichannel support

4. Promote the importance of analytics and continuous improvement

1. Develop and execute the digital fundraising strategy and annual workplan by:

• Search and analyze digital fundraising trends, opportunities and challenges, in addition to best-in-class digital fundraising within the UNICEF network.

• Execute the digital fundraising strategy and plan 2021-2026 in line with the Fundraising Strategic Plan.

• Develop annual workplans which will ensure the strategy is realized.

• Work and manage the digital consultant and digital agencies to deliver KPI’s related to the digital strategy and annual workplan

• Contribute to strategic planning discussions by putting forward ideas to improve our communications based on up-to-date knowledge of digital communication and e-marketing trends.

2. Lead and Deliver the Fundraising Digital Revenue Strategy by:

• Manage all digital channels and Digital team (i.e., SEM/SEO, Social Networks, Website, E-Mail, Display, Re-Marketing and Peer to Peer) to deliver fundraising KPI’s

• Ensure there is appropriate content for the digital platforms

• Maintain a bank of content – video and audio for the use of PFP area.

• Develop and optimize website, emails, prepare imagery and manage CRM systems,

• Manage the digital agency to ensure successful execution of the digital work plan and strategy.

• Develop and implement digital acquisition campaigns to realize fundraising KPI’s

• Inputting into local Digital Strategic planning and workplans.

• Being the conduit for implementing the Digital Revenue Strategy and feedback of local requirements.

• Being the digital fundraising expert and account manager for UNICEF Country Office.

3. Provide campaign and omnichannel support by:

• Working with other teams (In the country office and Region) to develop strategies to implement and optimize digital campaigns for pledge and cash donors, inspire gifts, legacies, and other.

• Collaborating to enable the growth of digital capabilities, such as analytics and tagging, paid media and social advertising, conversion rate optimization and A/B testing, content creation, user experience, design, and marketing automation.

• Working with the content team to manage digital campaigns (website content, advertising and email communications) to global donors.

• Working with other teams globally, regionally or locally in support of fundraising income objectives.

• Leveraging digital capabilities in support of offline revenue opportunities such as telemarketing, face-to-face fundraising, DRTV, telethons and other fundraising initiatives.

• Supporting work with corporate partners that can allow and/or accelerate supporter engagement and fundraising.

• Leveraging digital capabilities in support of emergency campaigns

• Leveraging digital capabilities for retention

• Working with other Communication teams to develop an integrated digital strategy

4. Promote the importance of analytics and continuous improvement by:

• Promoting digital and data tracking capabilities within markets.

• Providing strategic support on digital analytics, digital attribution, A/B testing solutions and working with global and local agencies where appropriate.

• Advocating for market support within PFP and ICT for strategic projects.

5. Inspire and enable fundraising innovation by:

• Being aware and promoting visibility of fundraising innovations across the industry.

• Supporting testing of marketing innovations, working with key markets to pilot new techniques, rolling out learnings, best practices and sharing knowledge globally.

• Collaborating with the Digital Knowledge Manager providing case studies, best practices, guidelines and expert content to global markets.

6. Innovation, knowledge management and capacity building

• Identify, capture, synthesize and share lessons learned for knowledge development and to build the capacity of stakeholders.

• Apply innovative approaches and promote good practice to support the implementation and delivery of concrete and sustainable results.

• Research, benchmark and report on best and cutting-edge practices for development planning of knowledge products and systems.

• Participate as resource person in capacity building initiatives to enhance the competencies of clients/stakeholders

QUALIFICATIONS

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have:

1. Education

A university Degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communication, or relevant field.

2. Work Experience

A minimum of one year of professional progressively responsible work experience in marketing, promotional or fundraising areas. Digital media is essential.

Proven proficiency in the use of search engine algorithms, SEO and promotion, content management systems, e-mail broadcasting tools, HTML coding and analytics packages.

Experience in any of following marketing areas: social media, web development, relationship marketing/e-CRM, search marketing, integrated media planning, and marketing communications.

Knowledge of marketing campaign management processes.

Relevant experience in a UN system agency or organization is considered as an asset

3. Language

Fluency in English and Spanish is required.
