Under the supervision of the Communication Specialist and in close collaboration with the Fundraising team, the incumbent will Act as liaison person between Fundraising and Communications and perform specialized support tasks to assist in the development of strategies and implementation of fundraising campaigns in order to generate revenues; co-ordinate the marketing and communication content in the campaigns developed in partnership with corporate donors using different channels such as mass media, digital, corporate´s existing channels to their clients and/or employees; responsible for the marketing and communication components in the fundraising events, and in specialized fundraising products such as DRTV, radio spots, social media posts and communication pieces.

How can you make a difference?

Summary of key functions/accountabilities:

1. Provide technical support to elaborate marketing Content in fundraising campaigns in a successful way in order to bring high quality donors on-board; Draft, and coordinate marketing and communication content for fundraising campaigns using different channels such as mass media, digital, corporate´s channels addressed to their clients and/or employees, aiming at acquiring new donors. Draft the briefings for the different agencies and vendors, as needed. Assist in the review of final version of the materials.

2. Effective assistance in the production of DRTV, radio spot and social media contents, and following UNICEF Fundraising and Communication guidelines; Provide support to develop specialized fundraising products such as DRTV, radio spots, social media posts and other fundraising materials Draft the briefings for the different agencies and vendors, as needed. Assist in the review of final version of the materials.

3. Marketing messages and call for donation successfully inserted in UNICEF social media posts, videos and other pieces. Provide technical support to develop and coordinate the insertion of marketing messages in our social media communications. Under the supervision of the Communication Specialist, work closely with the Fundraising section in order to assure inclusion, frequency, coherence with FR campaigns and success of the marketing and fundraising component in UNICEF social media posts, videos and other pieces.

4. Contribute to support donors, partners, celebrities and other partners when participating in UNICEF campaigns, videos and other audio visual materials.

5. Other duties and responsibilities assigned as required duly implemented.

Impact of Results:

  • Marketing Content in fundraising campaigns developed in partnership with Corporate Donors developed in a successful way in order to bring donors on-board;
  • DRTV, radio spot and social media contents effectively produced, and following UNICEF Fundraising and Communication guidelines; Fundraising and Communication materials developed by corporate partners following UNICEF Fundraising and Communication guidelines
  • Marketing dimension and call for donation successfully inserted in UNICEF social media posts, videos and other pieces.
  • Donors, partners, celebrities and all other people properly supported when participating in UNICEF campaigns, videos and other audio visual materials.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

  • Completion of Secondary School. Technical courses in communications or marketing will be considered an asset. Specialized training in Direct Marketing or Private Fundraising is a strong asset.
  • At least 6 years of relevant professional work experience in Communications, Direct Marketing, Private Fundraising, or any other related field.
  • Developing country work experience and/or familiarity with emergencies is considered an asset.
  • Fluency in Spanish and English is required.
  • An academic degree higher than the required degree may be considered to compensate two (2) years of experience in case the candidate lacks the required experience.
