Recently, strategic alliances with the private sector have made it possible for companies to participate in UNICEF Dominican Republic’s programmes and communication campaigns. With the support of UNICEF's Business Advisory Council, we are positioning Children's Rights and Business Principles in the social responsibility agenda. The impact of the tourism sector's work on the protection and eradication of commercial sexual exploitation, funds donations from private entities to finance programs, as well as the contribution of companies to meeting the Sustainable Development Goals (ODS), puts the private sector as a key player in achieving results. Besides the individual giving is part of the sustainability of the fundraising strategy and the CO has begun to acquire individual donations through different channels. To contribute with the Business for Results and the individual fundraising objectives proposed in the new Cooperation Programme 2018-2022, UNICEF Dominican Republic requires contracting additional support to continue working with the private sector and individuals pledge donors. A stronger Section will allow the Lead to focus on technical and strategic support for the implementation of Business for Results and Individual fundraising strategy within the Country Programme.
