UNICEF relies heavily on donor funds to finance a substantial portion of its projects. In recent years, the main source of these contributions has been monthly donors. Recognizing the importance of diversifying its funding sources, UNICEF is actively seeking to strengthen its current telemarketing channel.The Fundraising Associate, at the GS5 TA level in the PFP area, in Pledge Section, in the Country Office of Chile, reports to the Fundraising Associate who is at the GS6 level.

Under the guidance of the Fundraising Associate the selected candidate will play a key role in coordinating the execution and implementation of our Telemarketing strategy. This involves a dedicated focus on developing strategies through telemarketing, refining subscription models, and engaging new audiences and databases, all of which align closely with the overall Public Sector Fundraising (PSFR) objectives. A strategic mindset and proactive approach are imperative to this role, as the position plays a critical role in ensuring the success of our fundraising initiatives.

How can you make a difference?

  1. Provide technical support to the Fundraising Associate for the preparation of the Telemarketing plan, campaigns calendar, objectives, metrics and KPIs.

  2. Prepare and analyze the campaigns KPIs and the investment requirements.

  3. Provide technical support in the establishment of campaign KPIs and criteria (reporting, systems, performance evaluation, goals).
  4. Prepare the main indicators for each supplier and campaign he oversees.

  5. Effective implementation of Telemarketing campaigns, focusing on human resources aspects (such as recruitment, training, motivation) and quality of work. Most of these activities must be performed closer to the fundraisers and the provider (in call centers).

  6. Determine the schema and human resources needs taking into consideration the campaign goals.

  7. Provide technical support for the negotiation and agreements with suppliers.
  8. Establish the selection criteria of human resources for the outsourced individual fundraising campaigns.
  9. Establish training and motivation schemas for outsourced human resources and providers.

  10. Regular monitoring and evaluation activities undertaken according to the work plan to ensure maximum impact and continuous improvement of Telemarketing fundraising efforts. Results and reports are prepared and shared on a timely basis.

  11. Monitor and prepare reports for the supervisor of the agreed performance indicators to drive more efficient management and accountability for results.

  12. Research, synthesize and compile qualitative and quantitative data and information to facilitate preparation of reports, objectives, activities, etc.

  13. Administrative tasks and responsibilities are effectively carried out and delivered.

  14. Provides technical support to search and evaluate potential suppliers, prepares terms of reference for quotations and follows up on the processes.

  15. Manage quotation and billing processes for the Cash strategy.
  16. Handle various administrative tasks effectively.

To effectively implement future individual fundraising work plans geared towards increasing Regular Resources (RR) funds, the enhancement of the team's operational capacities is imperative. This position is pivotal in supporting the expansion program through four complementary logics:

  1. Continuous and Systematic Control:

Ensure a continuous and systematic control and overview of TMK campaigns. Implement measures for real-time monitoring, allowing for prompt adjustments and optimizations.

  1. Development of New Initiatives:

Spearhead the development of new initiatives and activities, exploring innovative channels to ensure sustained growth and the attainment of yearly objectives. Collaborate with the team to identify emerging trends and opportunities in individual fundraising.

  1. Data Compilation for Decision Making:

Facilitate the correct compilation of data and results, providing insightful information for strategic decision-making. Implement robust data management processes to ensure accuracy, completeness, and relevance.

  1. Relationship Management with Providers and Vendors:

Managing the day-to-day relationship with the various providers and vendors and supporting the contracting officer in making the best business decisions for UNICEF.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

  • Completion of secondary education, preferably supplemented by management, marketing, sales, communications or related areas training or university courses in these areas.
  • A minimum of 5 years of practical work experience with supervising sales work groups, as supervisor or team leader. Additional valuable qualifications include a background in fundraising, which is considered a notable advantage. Moreover, experience in call center operations or overseeing call center teams is highly beneficial, showcasing your versatility and proficiency in managing diverse work environments.
  • Developing country work experience and/or familiarity with emergencies is considered an asset.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills in Spanish is required.

  • A bachelor’s degree from a recognized academic institution in a field relevant to the position may be considered to compensate for three (3) years of experience in case the candidate lacks the required experience.

  • A master’s degree from a recognized academic institution in a field relevant to the position may be considered to compensate for an additional two (2) years (in addition to the three years from above, totaling 5 years).
