CHILD SAFEGUARDING: Level 2: either the post holder will have access to personal data about children and/or young people as part of their work; or the post holder will be working in a ‘regulated’ position (accountant, barrister, solicitor, legal executive); therefore, a police check will be required (at ‘standard’ level in the UK or equivalent in other countries).

ROLE PURPOSE: The purpose of creating this position is to supporting project team in planning, implementation and monitoring gender bases activities and coordinating its related task with project team under this grant. SCOPE OF ROLE:

The work is well defined and new situations that arise are readily identifiable and can be dealt with easily. Problems not normally dealt with are referred to supervisor(s). The majority of decisions are limited to own work and most decisions made do not have significant impact on others. Responsible for day-to-day supervision or co-ordination of volunteer staff within AWARE in Balkh. Regularly responsible for providing training in own discipline/practical training. Supervises activities that are mostly repetitive and routine for up to five volunteer positions KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:  Support project team in delivery of gender specific activities and enhance their impact on gender equality.  Work closely with project implementation teams in ensuring quality and timely implementation of project objectives with a focus on gender.  Provide support to GE Advisor to strengthens the capacity of project staff and to conduct bi-monthly gender transformative trainings, to ensure transform inequitable gender norms and promote women empowerment.  Support in development of curriculum for trainings to build capacity of staff and partners on gender transformative trainings based on requirement.  Provide support to trainers and relevant staff to develop life skills trainings and coaching sessions for SHG members  Support Project team in developing activity plan for community awareness on gender and GBV.  Establish positive working relationships with women’s network and partners such as (WEE-NPP), and etc.  In collaboration with Project team provide support to conduct annual Regional Conference and ensure representation of women’s lead organizations and voices of women are included.  Liaise between Project Leading staff and GBV-SC focal points in Jawzjan to conduct training on protection mainstreaming, gender inclusion, and GBV, facilitated by the national Protection GBV Cluster.  The incumbent will report to project lead at weekly and monthly basis.  Assist joint monitoring visits with the government officials (Provincial/district relevant authorities) to the project sites.  Establish positive working relationships with local communities, provincial/district government officials, UN agencies, and other stakeholders. QUALIFICATIONS University degree in any field of social sciences or other relevant technical credential

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS  Good communication skills  Problem solving, analytical and negotiation skills  Representation skills  Computer literate  English skills in both speaking and writing  3 years of experience in the relevant fields  Familiarity with the local culture of Balkh province Additional job responsibilities The duties and responsibilities as set out above are not exhaustive and the role holder may be required to carry out additional duties within reasonableness of their level of skills and experience.
