Brief description of the Public Partnership and Resourcing (PPR) Division:

The Public Partnerships and Resourcing Division (PPR) supports organization-wide efforts to meet the resource needs at corporate and country levels through active engagement with governments and public sector institutions.

Under the supervision of the Government Partnerships Officer, the Consultant will work with the Reporting Team within the Technical and Business Support Team (TST) in PPR in the role of Forecasting and Reporting Consultant. The incumbent will support the coordination process for identifying funding estimates to support WFP operational planning, both at the Global and at the Country Office level; support the preparation of corporate and ad hoc reports on contributions; and support the implementation of TST Training Strategy.

Duties and responsibilities:

  1. Support the Reporting Team with the production of Corporate Forecasting, for both Global Forecasts and Country Office Strategic Forecasts. Liaise with GPOs at HQ, RBx, COs to coordinate and share guidance for regular updates.
  2. Coordinate inputs on Salesforce related to Contribution Forecasting to ensure timely delivery and quality content. Propose possible enhancements in the system to improve the recording process of funding projections.
  3. Reporting analysis functions: Support the reporting team on the analysis of WFP’s funding situation at corporate level and at RBx/COs level whether by assisting in the production of corporate established reports (such as WIRED - regularly uploaded on WFPgo for global distribution and senior management consumption) or responding to daily reporting requests. Collaborate with the team to produce customized data as needed.
  4. Support TST Data Scientist in design, building and development of corporate reports, including FACTory, available on WFPgo. Participate in the drafting of Users Guide and FAQs.
  5. Act as a focal point of the sub team for the implementation of the TST Training Strategy, including development of Partnerships Officers onboarding learning paths on WeLearn; design of TST training documents, presentations, and user guides; development of internal comms products to promote TST platforms and training materials; organization of live training sessions on WFP contributions and forecasting processes/platforms for Partnerships Officers globally
  6. Perform other duties as required.

Required qualifications and experience:

  • Education: Master's Degree or equivalent in Economics, Humanities, Social Sciences, or other relevant field.
  • Experience: Minimum 2 year of relevant experience in at least one of the following areas: knowledge management, data mining, data analysis, and reporting. Experience in donor relations and of working in support of field offices is desirable.

Required knowledge and skills:

  • General knowledge of UN resource mobilization processes. Strong quantitative analytics skills, proficiency in statistical software (Stata), advanced Excel, and knowledge of Salesforce.
  • Excellent planning, organization, and coordination skills.
  • Ability to work independently towards challenging targets and strict deadlines. Strong writing and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a multi-cultural and dynamic environment.

Languages:

  • Full working proficiency in English is required. Working knowledge of any other UN language is desirable.
