Lead and manage logistics and fleet operations efficiently.

You have:

  • Minimum Qualification required: Degree or Diploma in Logistics, Transport and or Fleet Management or equivalent.
  • Logistics experience of three years in a demanding work environment, preferably with an International NGO, with ability to meet set targets/deadlines.
  • Experience in fleet management, fuel control, Warehousing and stock control, and be conversant with import and export procedures, documentation and practical experience in Port and airport operations.
  • Valid driving license.
  • Computer literate with hands-on knowledge of Microsoft Office. Experience using computerized fleet management systems an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities:

Purpose of the position: To organize, lead and control WVISL logistics and fleet management. This include the acquisition, coordination, collaboration, consolidation, servicing and economic efficient use of vehicles and other resources.

Major Responsibilities

  • To supervise and Coordinate with the service providers for vehicle and generator servicing and maintenance, in the planning and execution of all servicing and maintenance works, including preventive maintenance schedules, to the vehicle fleet/generators based at the National Office, ensuring that the vehicle fleet and generators are well serviced and maintained with strict adherence to Fleet and generator procedures
  • To supervise, monitor and control fuel and repairs/maintenance expenses of the fleet of vehicles and prepare monthly report for management.
  • To control and track vehicle/transport requests and utilization and ensuring monthly status reports are submitted to the Support Services Manager.
  • To coordinate and maintain WVISL Internal Vehicle Rental System in accordance with fleet management systems, policies and procedures of the organization.
  • To maintain the National Office fixed asset register making sure that it is regularly updated with quarterly physical asset inventory count and submit report to the support service manager.
  • To contribute to the development and management of the National Office Support Services budget.
  • To coordinate the National Office fleet staff, undertaking continuous in-house capacity building to ensure NO objectives are achieved
  • To ensure and promote standardization of Fleet management activities and processes across the National Office. i.e. updating fleet management software, fuel tracking software, develop and implement template for internal/external control measures.
  • To organize and/ or facilitate training sessions for drivers in coordination with the support services manager, Direct and coach Fleet staff, and monitor their performance and capability development.
  • To Perform other responsibilities as may be assigned by the Support Services Manager

Qualifications: Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience

The following may be acquired through a combination of formal or self-education, prior experience or on-the-job training:

  • Minimum Qualification required: Degree or Diploma in Logistics, Transport and or Fleet Management or equivalent. Additional Diploma in clearing and Forwarding & Warehousing or its equivalent is an asset

  • Experience:

Logistics experience of three years in a demanding work environment, preferably with an International NGO, with ability to meet set targets/deadlines:

Experience in fleet management, fuel control, Warehousing and stock control, and be conversant with import and export procedures, documentation and practical experience in Port and airport operations

  • Technical Skills & Abilities:

Good communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work in a multi-cultural environment

Valid driving license.

Computer literate with hands-on knowledge of Microsoft Office. Experience using computerized fleet management systems an added advantage

Working Environment / Conditions:

  • Work environment: Office-based.
  • Travel: 20% Domestic travel required
  • On call: 10%
