Org. Setting and Reporting This position is in the Master Data Management (MDM) Section located in Brindisi which reports to the Financial Policy and Internal Controls Service (FPICS), Office of Programme Planning, Finance and Budget (OPPFB) in the Department of Management Strategy, Policy and Compliance (DMSPC).
The MDM Section has the responsibility to ensure the integrity, standardization, harmonization and the proper governance of the Finance Master Data in the Enterprise Resource Planning system. Finance Master Data includes elements of the coding block, business partners, services delivery and others. Master Data is the building block for any business transaction in the Enterprise Resource Planning system and therefore its completeness, accuracy, consistency, validity, uniqueness and integrity are key dimensions of master data quality that this team oversees and maintains.
The incumbent reports to the Senior Financial Information Assistant of the MDM team located in Brindisi.
Responsibilities - Gathers and reviews requirements for development of financial, performance and monitoring reports and provides relevant support to finance users. Participates in the support of financial application systems servicing OPPFB. Liaises with users to define and specify requirements, tests and implements simple computer application systems.
Prepares and maintains documentation, standard operating procedures and training materials, and conducts technical presentations.
Provides support for deployed computer application systems including version management, data management and support; performs ongoing reviews with users and developers and responds to users' requests, which includes: performing daily operational tasks of creating and maintaining one or more types of finance master data for SAP and other systems, and addressing requests received according to pre-set Customer Relationship Management (CRM) workflows.
Performs other duties as required.

Education High school diploma or equivalent.
Work Experience A minimum of five years of experience in business administration, finance, procurement, human resources, information systems management or a related area is required.
Experience in information systems support, customer service management or related area is required.
Experience working with an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) such as SAP is desirable.
Experience with Master Data Maintenance is desirable.
Experience with a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system such as Siebel is desirable.
Languages English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the post advertised, fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official United Nations language is an advantage.
Assessment Evaluation of qualified candidates may include an assessment exercise which may be followed by competency-based interview.

Passing the Global General Service Test (GGST) is a prerequisite for recruitment consideration in the General Services and related categories in the United Nations Secretariat. Having passed the Administrative Assessment Support Test (ASAT) in English at Headquarters, ECA, ESCWA, UNOG, UNOV, ICTR, or ICTY or the United Nations Examination for Accounting Assistants (AACE) at UN Headquarters or passing the Global General Service Test (GGST) is a prerequisite for recruitment consideration for this post.
Staff members of the United Nations common system organizations who will reach the mandatory age of separation or retirement within the duration of the current temporary need period are not eligible to apply.
