TITLE: Finance Volunteer - Partnerships TEAM/PROGRAMME: Finance LOCATION: Amman, Jordan GRADE: CONTRACT LENGTH: 3 MONTHS

CHILD SAFEGUARDING:

Level 3: the post holder will have contact with children and/or young people either frequently (e.g. once a week or more) or intensively (e.g. four days in one month or more or overnight) because they work country programs; or are visiting the country programs; or because they are responsible for implementing the police checking/vetting process staff.

ROLE PURPOSE:

The Finance Volunteer will play an important role in supporting the finance team by assisting with partner verification processes and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records. Additionally, the role involves organizing and archiving financial documentation. The volunteer will also provide ad-hoc support as needed.

SCOPE OF ROLE:

The Partnership Finance Assistant will be responsible for:

  • Support the verification of partner’s financial reports and supporting documents, making sure that expenses are reasonable, allowable, and allocatable to the approved budget and comply with donor regulations.
  • Support on safekeeping and archiving of all records received from partners.
  • Support on draft General Journal (GJ) for all partner financial reports.
  • Provide other ad-hoc financial tasks as requested.

Budget Responsibilities: NA

Role Dimensions: Coordination with other colleagues of the GOS Area Office and WoS team and Finance staff of different Sub-grantees.

    QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance or equivalent.)

    EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • 0-1 year’s experience in accounting/finance.

  • Experience in the NGO sector preferred.
  • Experience in the Finance partnership preferred.
  • Proven ability to handle a workload and multi-task to meet deadlines.
  • Understanding of financial systems (FMS – Agresso & AMS) and procedures
  • Understanding of computerized accounts packages, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Written and verbal in Arabic & English
