You have:

  • A Degree or equivalent experience in Accounting, Business Administration, Commerce.
  • Minimum of 1 year working in the finance function.
  • Experience working with NGOs (preferred but not a prerequisite).
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
  • Knack for detail. Able to communicate effectively.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong Computer skills (MS Word, Excel).
  • Must be able to function comfortably in a loosely structured but complex work environment, working and prioritizing multiple tasks.
  • Able to communicate effectively (written and verbal) in English with programme staff.
  • Good supervisory skills, time management and interpersonal skills.

Job Overview

Under the direction of the Finance Officer, the Finance Volunteer is responsible for assisting the finance team in the day-to-day accounting operations in accordance with IRC’s policies and procedures, and in accordance with the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist Finance in day-to-day bookkeeping and data processing.

• Assist in scanning of documents and ensure they properly and safely filed on box.

• Prepare cash transaction vouchers (cover sheets).

• Updating and arranging the physical finance vouchers in line with the Integra references.

• Assist in the verification of expenditures submitted by the Program staff for adjustment against their advances.

• Assist with making mobile money transactions using YO system, running name verification reports and share payment confirmation.

• Assist with Vendor Settlement transactions in the Integra system.

• Manage the Online Invoice tracker and update the payments tracker for transactions submitted in Finance.

• Draft and complete the With Holding Tax schedules.

• Maintain and enforce compliance of policies and procedures, including confidentiality.

• Perform other duties as requested by any finance staff.
