Finance Technical Officer Iraq Nineveh (National Position)

Role and responsibilities

Generic responsibilities

1. Support and Implement NRC’s systems and procedures at area level
2. Support the adherence to NRC policies, handbooks, guidelines and donor requirements
3. Ensure proper filing of all support documents
4. Support line supervisors in procedures and require support team trainings
5. Support the supervisor for the Management of Area offices financial team
6. Support the management to Implement anti-corruption policy

Specific responsibilities

1. Looking after and management of the Cash and Bank of the area office, including the forecasting.
2. Supervision and Management of the bank account of Area office. And making the forecast for the projected data.
3. Provide Support on Budget Mentoring by reviewing and validating PR, PO and budget code requests
4. Make sure that financial internal controls are in place while the banking and cash system is working.
5. Cover Finance Coordinator tasks in his absence
6. Support Finance Coordinator, SM, AO, APM, and AO to provide financial information when needed
7. Focal point to update Spending plan, Master budget and Donor budget in the Area
8. Post the entries on daily basis to Agresso. Make sure that Data has proper correct codes and as per the project documents.
9. Prepare the regular Agresso Bank reconciliations for all the balance sheet items.
10. Proper close of the projects and year end close.
11. Enter the Agresso rebooking, and keeping proper record of it.
12. Devise a system so that all the vouchers are safely preserved.
13. Train the staff on the Agresso and excel tools.
14. Any other tasks requested by the direct supervisor
15. Focal point for Fair share distribution in collaboration with FC
16. Supervise the month-end closure procedures in the area office
17. Focal point for all cash distribution in the area office level

Competencies

• 2 years’ work eexperience from working as a Finance officer in a humanitarian/recovery context will be preferred.
• Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts
• Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities
• Fluency of English and Arabic is required
• University degree in equivalent fields
• Knowledge in budgeting and keeping the bank accounts and record keeping
• Knowledge & experience of working in Agresso accounting system and MS Excel
• Past experience of working in middle-east or Iraq
• Other languages are plus.

Other information:

• Contract Duration: 5 months ( with the possibility of extension)
• Duty Station: Nenawa - based Mosul with traveling 50% to other intervention areas.

• Salary: G6/S1, According to NRC’s Iraq salary scale and terms and conditions.
