Job Overview: The Finance Specialist will be responsible for essential accounting functions such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other tasks as assigned. Under the supervision of the Sr. Finance Coordinator, the Finance Specialist is responsible supporting the Finance team to collect and process financial date, in compliance with IRC internal policies and donor expectations.

Major Responsibilities:

· Process payment requests in a timely manner and maintain financial records per retention policies.

· Post reconciliation journal entries for bulk purchase inventory household supplies, metro tickets, etc. in coordination with appropriate staff.

· Process reconciliation journal entries for office credit cards.

· Prepare and post bank transactions in Integra.

· Assist in the preparation of monthly billing and assembling documentation.

· Other finance duties as assigned.

Key Working Relationships:

Position Reports to: Sr. Finance Coordinator Other Internal and/or external contacts:

Internal: Program Departments; Operations Department, HR Department, Development Department and Finance Team. External: Volunteers, Interns, Vendors

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

· Undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance with at least 2 years of nonprofit accounting experience.

· Successful background in Finance and administrative with proven ability to work as a team member in a cross-cultural environment. Reporting experience preferred.

· Strong attention to detail

· Excellent computer skills to include all Microsoft Office Programs, database experience and various other financial related software programs.

· Experience working on financial and administrative issues.

· Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

· Valid driver’s license and access to a personal, insured vehicle.

Working Environment:

· Standard office environment at IRC’s office in Seattle; Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm, with occasional evening or weekend activities as needed. Limited flexible workplace available with approval.
