• Submitted human rights project proposals are of high quality and comply with the regulations and set procedures; • Budget and project-related documents are followed in a timely manner; • Allocated budget is efficiently and timely spent in accordance with the set working plans, RBB; • Vendors are paid in a timely manner in accordance with the regulations and applicable procedures; • Periodic reports on budget implementation and overall performance are prepared; • The development of capacity through coaching, mentoring and formal on-the-job training, when working with (including supervising) national staff or (non-) governmental counter- parts, including Implementing Partners (IPs);

Under the overall supervision of the Director of MINUSMA/ Human Rights Division and the direct supervision of the Planning/Program Officer, the UN Volunteer will undertake the following tasks: • Provide administrative support, financial planning and monitoring budget implementa-tion of Human rights related projects according to the set procedures and regulations. • Support in drafting human rights project proposals and budget related communications, as well as ensuring that the project supporting documents are in accordance with the set requirements and procedures. • Provide technical support to HRPD’s thematic units and regional field offices in pro-jects management • Ensure the quality control of all projects, as well as coherence with the Division’s stra-tegic plans and conformity with UN rules and UN Programming Principles • Follow up on vendor payment transactions in a timely manner in accordance with the regulations and applicable procedures • Maintain complete records of all project and budget-related operations (database) • Analyse, review and report on budget spending of the Division, including but not lim-ited to the budget allocated for projects and activities, whenever it is required • Assist in planning and monitoring of compliance with the MINUSMA Result-Based Budget OHCHR Work Plan and other projects, • Provide inputs to periodic reports • Assist in day-to-day management and reporting on the project activities. • Represent the HRPD in MINUSMA’s working groups on planning and projects review • Any other assigned task related to finance and project management.

36 months of relevant experience in project management preferably with UN or other international organizations.

Bamako is a non-family duty station with a difficult security and working environment. Mali is a non-family duty station. Living conditions are acceptable in Bamako, but security instructions need to be strictly complied with. Adequate housing is available for rent at US$ 500-1500 per month. The national currency is the Franc CFA (April 2020 exchange rate was 1 US$ = 545 FCFA). Visa credit cards are accepted in some hotels and larger shops. Mali is a country prone to malaria, so mosquito nets are highly recommended. Basic medicines are available from pharmacies, but provision needs to be made for specialized medication. Security recommendations from the UN Department of Safety and Security (UNDSS) must be followed by all UN Staff in the course of their assignments in Mali. For the sake of rewarding experience, UN volunteers in MINUSMA carry out their duties with flexibility, commitment, and a willingness to live and work in challenging conditions including heat and limited water and electricity supply.
