Key Responsibilities:

ob Purpose

Supporting the efficient execution of National Resource Development (NRD) Finance activities in order to support implementation of programs and for management planning and decision making. With a focus on both customer service excellence and accountability in verifying, recording all sponsor’s income in proper accounting entries, this role is also dedicated to fostering continuous improvement within financial systems and processes.

Strategy Development & Planning

  • Maintain a strong control environment by ensuring compliance to WVI financial policies and donor regulations.
  • Coordinate with internal and external audit to facilitate all finance audits of local funding under NRD unit.
  • Implement and follows up on recommendation from audits.

Resource Acquisition & Management/ Engagement****/Project Management

  • Coordinate internal unit/department meeting at least on a monthly basis.
  • Develop good network and relationship between other unit/departments and banks.
  • Involve in NRD fundraising activities as necessary.

Capacity Building/ Technical works

  • Assist inbuilding the capacity of finance team/staff on financial systems and management with emphasis on SIMMA, GEMS and PV and other related systems.
  • Maintain collaborative working relationships and pro-active participation in discussions, especially with RDC and FCS teams.
  • Actively participate in the team planning, monitoring and evaluation processes.
  • Participate during discussions and orientations with financial institutions regarding new products, software and systems.

Accountability & Quality Assurance

  • Analyse sponsor and donor donations for accurate recording. Validate transactions by meticulously reviewing supporting documents, including bank documents, official receipts, deposit slips, and system-generated reports
  • Apply appropriate accounting entries and transaction codes related to donations, including designation codes and motivation codes.
  • Adhere to accounting principles and standards, collaborating with other Finance personnel when resolving accounting issues arises
  • Manage bank transactions based on bank daily transaction, ensuring completeness of data inputs such as transaction dates, amounts, and journal references.
  • Maintain accurate and updated sponsor and donor payments in the SIMMA system. Coordinate with other NRD’s units for transactions requiring immediate attention.
  • Extract monthly income transaction listings of assigned payment gateway and make adjustment entries for incorrect motivation codes.
  • Make necessary entries for outstanding bank reconciliation items.
  • Perform monthly monitor of unidentified deposits of assigned payment gateway, communicate to NRD team and apply appropriate adjustments once identified.
  • Monitor invoice payments of assigned payment gateway.
  • Responsible for the timely deposit of cash and checks to the bank, as needed.
  • Process data sent to SUN for all transaction
  • Conduct regular inventory checks of incoming and outgoing merchandise s on a quarterly basis, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records and minimizing the risk of discrepancies or errors in transactions.
  • Ensure that the recording of incoming and outgoing merchandise is in accordance with the inventory.
  • Prepare data reconciliation between bank statements, SUN and SIMMA on daily basis.
  • Maintenance and update unidentified balance.
  • Maintain filling system of financial document and ensure all documents are completed and stamped PAID.
  • Review advances, settlements, and reimbursements (GEMS).
  • Review purchase request (PV).
  • Create donation commitments for PA, PHI, SIS.
  • Support audit foundation.

Management & Leadership

  • Develop and manage annual performance agreement
  • Submits periodical/ monthly accomplishment report
  • Build and maintain positive spirit of working in team with other staff in respective unit and department
  • Provide Christian value and support to enrich the organization's life, faith, Christian commitments and ministry to the disadvantaged children and communities we seek to serve.
  • Be a role model and inspiration in managing work, communication and relationship with internal staff and external parties.
  • Manage all risks related to financial business process according to organization policies, guidelines, and standard. This includes risks in fraud, safeguarding, and other related risks.
