Job Description

- Partnership Management and assisting in compiling partner’s budget. - Spot check of Partners on a quarterly basis. - Assisting in both annual, donor, and project audits. - Post monthly spreadsheet transactions of Partners to the SUN accounting system. - Ensure that all information in the spreadsheets is correct and complete. - Review of Financial reports checked by finance assistant. - Review of Budget coding given by different departments for each project. - Review of VBA’s report and reconcile it with monthly or quarterly partner’s liquidation. - Review of adjustments prepared by finance assistant. - Train Senior finance assistant on the usage of the SUN accounting system. - Reviewing finance documents and providing justification on findings raised by the compliance department. - Receive cash forecasts from the partners and Cash Transfer Requests for all partners. - Travelling to different field offices for spot check and audit of both IRC departments and Partner offices and report to Audit, Compliance, Partnership Finance Coordinator. - Assisting its senior on bringing improvement through recommendation, and necessary actions. - Monthly finance monitoring meeting with partners on evaluating its operation and how they are complying with Donor and IRC requirements. - Review of Calculation of expense according to the Donor legislation. Ensure the accuracy of computation. - Review the bank reconciliation of Partners and participate in Partners’ project capacity review. - Assist partnership manager in the drafted partnership agreement, financial template, budget, and proposals stage of entering into a mutual agreement with new partners. - Participate in professional development activities, as needed, or requested and perform other duties, as necessary or as requested. - In the absence of Audit, Compliance, and partnership finance coordinator, review and verification of partners documents presented for finance verification and ensure that these are in accordance with IRC and donor policies and procedures. - Supervise finance assistant and internee Actively participate in capacity building of subordinate staff. - Assist the recruitment and selection process of independent external auditors and perform a proper audit kick off and close out processes.

Qualifications

- University degree in Accounting, Public Administration, Business Administration, Economics, Management, Finance, or related field - At least 4 years of relevant working experience from international organizations on spot check and audit resources. - Excellent command and use of computerized accounting packages or should possess be able to work with MS Excel and MS word and IRC software or system. - Experience in management of funds from multiples of donors, preparation of balance sheets and budgets, also experience in the preparation and accomplishing financial annual audits. - Ability to interpret financial procedures and standards and their application - Bookkeeping experience in accounts receivables, accounts payable and reconciliation. - Demonstrated leadership abilities and Supervision skills - Excellent interpersonal /communication skills; ability to work in a team environment - Ability to work independently and leverage limited resources and staff for maximum impact. - Experience working with international NGOs and knowledge of project audit would be an asset. - Good public relations skills and ability to multitask; Adaptable and flexible - Should possess good analytical skills. - Able to communicate effectively in English both written and verbal - Should be able to work in a cross-cultural environment.
