Overall purpose of the role:

This internship program is designed to give the learning opportunity to newly graduated candidates while doing the actual work and providing support to the Finance Department in the organization.

Through your internship experience at DRC, you will:

  • Gain practical, hands-on experience in finance.
  • Receive mentorship and guidance from experienced professionals within DRC.
  • Apply theoretical knowledge gained through academic studies in a practical setting.
  • Learn about the organization's operations, culture, values, and Code of Conduct.
  • Access DRC's extensive Learning Catalogue which provides learning opportunities for further development and growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Support HR Staff on health insurance communication for the details of all staff and their updates on monthly basis, tracking the staff changes in their statue of family and following the reimbursement payments.
  • Tax amounts to be checked, compared with the accrual balances in finance department, and assist in preparing the payment to be paid for government by coordinating with HR.
  • Social Security amounts to be checked, compared with the accrual balances in finance department, and assist in preparing the payment to be paid for government by coordinating with HR.
  • Reviewing the master budget for HR data on quarterly basis according to the staff budgets and related information.
  • Following applied timesheet for staff who has changes in the payroll grades.
  • Confirming the final versions of the payrolls after posting the salaries to be reconciled with HR versions and following the new revising changes if any; to be processed correctly.

Experience and technical competencies:

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Basic proficiency in PowerPoint
  • Basic IT Skills
  • Full professional proficiency in English
  • Having some experience working with NGOs is an advantage.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher diploma in finance accounting or with relevant professional certification
  • Fresh Graduate

Languages:

  • Fluency in Kurdish is required, Arabic adds Value.
  • Ability to communicate in English is required.

Conditions:

Contract: 3-6 months of internship.

Availability: August 2023

Duty Station: This internship is based in Erbil, DRC's Country Office.

Remuneration: This Internship is entitled to Internship Allowances and Medical Insurance only (Not entitled to salary).
